Songs on Repeat

I know I've shared my playlist a few times now, but there are some songs I have been listing to for weeks, and I'm still obsessed with them.

All but one are country, so if you're not a country fan, my apologies. And you don't know what you're missing! ;)

In no particular order......

Beauty and the Beast
Ariana Grande and John Legend

Can. Not. Wait. for this movie to come out mid-March! So excited. As a little girl, I was Belle. She had the library, so of course, I wanted to be her!

Making Me Look Good Again
 Drake White

A Guy with a Girl
Blake Shelton

She Got the Best of Me
Luke Combs

Song for Another Time
Old Dominion

I read an article over the weekend about how the writers added 20 different song titles into the song. Cool, right?

Luke Combs

There ya have it; my playlist that's pretty much on repeat when I'm in my car!
What songs are you loving lately?

Brandi's Red Velvet Cake

My mom's favorite cake is red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting. So I persuaded my friend, Brandi, who makes the absolute best, moistest red velvet cake you've ever tasted, to bake her one for her birthday.

She finally agreed, and I even offered to help her...because I was feeling guilty sitting in her kitchen while she labored for my dear mother. "Ummm... no. I'm afraid you'll mess it up." Apparently she's heard, and read, about my failures in the kitchen.
Me with the Brandi the Baker

She baked the cake, made the icing, put it together and sent me on my merry way. And the next night when I took it to my mom's birthday dinner, everyone absolutely raved about how yummy it was.

While the cake mix is extremely light and fluffy, the key is the icing. Y'all. I could probably eat an entire bowl. It's that good!

What you'll need:
1 box of Betty Crocker red velvet cake mix with pudding
1 block cream cheese- softened
4 ounces unsalted butter- softened
2 cups powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla

1. Bake cake according to directions.
2. Cool completely.
3. Cream together cream cheese and butter.
4. Mix in powdered sugar.
5. Finally mix in vanilla.
6. Spread frosting on the cake.
7. Grab a glass of milk and enjoy!

*Note- Brandi says she doesn't really measure out the sugar and vanilla exactly. She just throws in, mixes, and then tastes. She's made the recipe a bazillion times

That Brandi. She can make a mean cake.

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to cut myself a slice of cake!

Before I go, here's a nice little recipe card for your collection. Simply right click, save as, and then print! Or you can pin this recipe on pinterest for easy access!

Friday Favorites

You know the drill: Friday equals sharing my favorites from the week!

My family is my favorite. I chose this pic because look at how silly my niece is being, and then look at how her brother is looking at her. This is reality. She's a ham, and he just looks at her and laughs. So cute!

And sleeping babes are my favorite- especially this one. Look at those cheeks. That lower lip. I mean. Can I just hold him forever?

New hat gets a thumbs up from me. Let's be honest, caps look terrible on me. I think it's a combination of my round face, super thick hair, and just looking like crap in general. But I'm going to rock this thing anyway! Who cares?

Brandi's red velvet cake with cream cheese icing may be my absolute favorite thing from the entire week. I'm sad it's all gone. Don't worry- you all get the recipe next week!

More food pics, because well, food is my fave! I ate at Pub by Novo this week, and it did not disapoint!

Pictures of this sweet baby are my fave! And look at that bib. Yep. This auntie loves it!

I love love love games, so game night with friends this week was a fave. And fibbage might just be a new fave game!

Let's end the post with even more food, shall we? I ate at a local restaurant, whose menu changes daily. You know those country-cookin' places? Well, I've been several times, and I always get the exact same thing- deluxe cheeseburger and curly fries. Oh. My. Word. I ate every single bite. That good! I got lots of instalove on this post, so you all must like yummy food posts too!

As usual, I'm linking up with Andrea, Christina, and Karlie!

Three on Thursday

If you're new to Three on Thursday posts, I totally borrowed the idea from Not Entirely Perfect. It's a post of (3) things I'm currently loving and think you'd love too! It can be anything from products, foods, music, shows, books, etc. Basically anything that's worth sharing!

I just bought this moisturizer Tuesday night and I'm already obsessed with it! My face has been so so soft these past two days. I'm glad I finally bought it. Now hopefully, I can keep it up! (I'm the world's worst about keeping up with skin care routines.)

Umm. Hello! Is there a better time than girl scout cookie time?!

Im the worst about keeping lipstick on. And let me tell you, I look sick without it. So I keep this matte balm on my desk at work and apply throughout the day. I have the color Passionate, which is a deep pink. I love it!

Have you tried any of these? What do you think?

What's Up Wednesday

The last Wednesday of the month calls for What's Up Wednesday!
note: How in the heck is it already the end of February??????

ah-may-zing! I plan on doing a review soon! Also.... Mexican. Because duh.

Reminiscing About
When my friends and I were younger....before they went off and got married and had kids and moved away. Those were the good times! YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE!

My new bag

Been Up To
For someone who isn't married with kids, I seem to be crazy busy! It's helpful to have friends that want to hang out with me!

I need to make an appointment just for check ups and such, and I dread it so much.

Working On
Trying to keep up consistency in blogging and reading. Some times are easier than others.

Excited About
Going to see Kentucky play Tuesday night. Can. Not. Wait!
Meg and I at SEC last year!

The latest season on Pretty Little Liars on Netflix. I've watched every other season on "real" tv, but didn't this last season. Trying to catch up!

Currently reading What She Knew, which is also the pick for our book club.

Listening To
Same ole play list. Can't stop.

Same ole LuLaRoe and Agnes & Dora. Can't stop. It's just so comfy!

Doing This Weekend
Baby shower for my friend, C.

Looking Forward To Next Month
March Madness! Gimme all the basketball!

What Else Is New?
Trying some new beauty products this week. Hopefully I'll love them and will share later!

Bonus: What is your "can't live without" beauty item?
Eyeliner. If I wear nothing buy eyeliner. Without it, I look dead. My favorite is a drugstore brand, which is awesome because it's cheap!

Weekend Recap

Where did my weekend go????

I feel like this kitten. Anyone else?

I started my wild weekend with game night with friends. We ate pizza, garlic cheesy bread, girl scout cookies (yep...it's that time!), and red velvet cake.

So the games were all interactive with your smart phone with the tv that has a fire stick. Basically the tv prompts you to answer via your phone, options pop up on the tv, and you choose on your phone. We played different games, but Fibbage was my favorite. It's a game of lies. Of course, I win!

Saturday was pretty low key; I attended a LuLaRoe party, bought a Sarah that I don't need, and hung out around the house until it was party time!

My mom was out of town for her birthday  last week, so we celebrated Saturday night. We met at Shogun for dinner, and then went back to her house for red velvet cake (thanks, Brandi! It was uh-may-zing!) and gifts.
Raelyn, Pa-Paw, Owen, & Mimi

Rae & the birthday girl- Mimi

Always a chicken dance on your birthday!

Mom opening her gift from me...with lots of help!

Raelyn was in charge of the candle situation. She decided on 6.
I also hadn't seen the kiddos to give them their valentine's gifts. Rae gave me a Shopkins donut card, and I got her the softest donut blanket. Donuts. It's our thing. How funny we both chose donuts as our gifts????
Similar blanket

This little nugget. I could just snuggle with him all day long. I mean...those cheeks!

Sunday was spent at church, lounging on the couch, and of course, a Sunday afternoon nap!
And then I was up half the night. Never fails.

Have a great Monday, peeps!
