January Book Reviews & A Giveaway!

It's the end of the month, which means it is time for me to share what books I've read this month and what I thought about them here today!

The Magnolia Story
by Chip and Joanna Gaines

Technically I finished this at the end of December, but not in time to make it on my review post. And I loved it so so much that I had to share it with you guys! I'm a huge fan of Chip and Joanna (like the rest of the entire nation), so I was really excited to get this for Christmas. I wanted to hear their story and see how it all began. Not only did they share their beginning, but they were so real. They shared all of the good, the bad, and the ugly. Their struggles before their big break with Fixer Upper.

I can't recommend this book enough; I finished it in two nights! So good!

5 stars!

Don't You Cry
by Mary Kubica

I'm a big fan of Mary Kubica; she is a genius at twists and shocking endings! Remember The Good Girl I read last year, and I dubbed it the best book of 2016? I think because of that, I was a little disappointed with this one. It kept going and going and I was just ready for it to end.  It wasn't bad, it just wasn't nearly as good as The Good Girl

I give this one 2/5 stars.

Giddy Up Eunice
by Sophie Hudson

Oh Sophie, girl you can write a book! I've also talked about Sophie Hudson a number of times. She's a blogger and Christian author, and I loved her book, A Little Salty To Cut The Sweet, that I read last year. This book is about the power and importance of friendships between women. This was heavy on references from women in the Bible, and I'm ashamed to say it, but I thought there was a little too much referencing. I much prefer the stories Sophie tells from her life. And don't get me wrong, she does that a lot too! The deeper I got into the book, the more I enjoyed it, though. Sophie just does such a good job of storytelling and making you laugh with the most simple of stories. She has a gift, y'all.

3/5 stars! Only because I loved her book, A Little Salty to Cut The Sweet, and it's so hard to compare to that!

  3. I have both Giddy Up Eunice and the Lauren Graham ones on my library hold list. Love Sophie's stories so I'd probably like to read that one first.
