March Favorites

We've reach the end of March; how fast has this year flown by????

Since we're at the end of the month, I thought I'd share my favorites from this month- products and things I love from March. In no particular order....

Troublemaker by Leah Remini was our book club read for March, and I absolutely loved it. Couldn't put it down. This was the second "scientology" themed book we've read and it pretty much confirmed everything that happened in the first book we read. Remini was captivating, emotional, and funny in this book. I normally don't like memoirs, but Remini's was fantastic!

I strolled into Merle Norman for my fave Lasting Foundation, and was told if I buy 2 items, I will get a free gift. Well the words free gift are like gold to me, so I of course picked up a new lip gloss. After trying a few on, I chose Modern Princess. The color was light but perfect for spring summer. And the name. Hellooo?! It was calling to me. I've worn it every single day since buying it. And I apply multiple times a day. Love it!

I was sent this L'Oreal EverCurl 6-in-1 Cleansing Balm from Influenster for testing. You guys. I'm super picky about hair products, because nothing ever seems to tame my wild, frizzy, curls. This stuff though was awesome. It left my hair soft and kept the frizz down. Impressed.

I made this Veggie Pizza last weekend and it is my new favorite thing. I may make one again just for myself. Find the recipe here

I got this super cute purse in this week, and I am obsessed. I love the color and the contrasting color inside. The scallops are my favorite.

Easter was this past weekend, and it was one of my favorites from the month. I love the meaning of Easter and how we celebrate Jesus' resurrection from the tomb. I also loved having my family over for lunch and egg hunts. We had the best time. Love them so much.

And egging houses for Easter was pretty fun too. See what I'm talking about here

Girls Day with my mom and sister are ALWAYS my faves. We drove up to Louisville for a full day of shopping. And eating. My sister is 7 months pregnant so it may be awhile before we get another day like this. Love them.

The SEC tourney is always a fun time. Especially when the Cats come to play. It was a super close game and we pulled out a win!

"Victory in Jesus" is one of my all-time favorite church hymns. I was super excited when we sang it during service one Sunday.

Little Opie is one of my favorites. And when he refuses to walk, and would rather be dragged, well that's just funny.

Those are my faves from the month. What are you loving from March?

Veggie Pizza

For the paint party I hosted on Saturday, I decided to make a Veggie Pizza. I remember trying one years ago, and I loved it! So why not try to make my own? If I had known how simple it was, I would have attempted this way before now!

Veggie Pizza
Ingredients:
-2 cans of crescent rolls
-16 oz. sour cream
-1 cream cheese
-1 pack of ranch seasoning mix
-1 cup of each diced veggie  you choose
-broccoli
-cauliflower
-cherry tomatoes
-carrots
-1/2 to 1 cup of shredded cheese

Unroll crescent rolls onto a greased cookie sheet.
I use the spray and lined my pan in foil for easy clean-up.
It's not pretty, but overlapping is ok!

While that bakes, mix together the sour cream, cream cheese, and ranch packet.

Oh, hey! Here I am using a mixer! I'm so fancy.
After you've mixed everything, refrigerate.

Once the crescent have cooled (about 30 minutes), spread the ranch mixture over the rolls. Be generous. I actually had about a cup of ranch leftover, so I saved it for dip later on.

Sprinkle your diced veggies over the ranch. I just bought a bag of broccoli, cauliflower, carrot mix, and a tub of cherry tomatoes. Also, instead of chopping the carrots, I used a veggie peeler to make little slivers. I thought that was cuter. ;)

I didn't use quite a 1/2 cup of cheese, but just enough for color and flavor.

Refrigerate before serving. Don't forget to cut into squares!

You guys. This is the best appetizer. I ate so many slices.
I wish I had some now!

Cross Paint Party

I organized a paint party this past Saturday for the women in my church to come together and fellowship.

We all painted wooden crosses for our front doors.

Every single cross was different, and they all turned out wonderfully!

I'm not artistic at all, and up close, it was pretty rough.

But from afar, you can't see the imperfections.

I'm waiting on a fun bow to put on it, and it's good to go.

Fun times with these special women. Love my church family.

Friday Favorites

I've got a lot of things coming up that I'm super duper excited about, so I thought I'd share those with you guys today. Is that odd? Maybe a little.

Anywho, linking up with my fave, Andrea, and Erika, and Narci.

I'm hosting a paint party for the ladies at my church tomorrow. We're having finger foods and painting the afternoon away. I can't wait to fellowship with these ladies.

I've been loving this Barrington Bag ever since Sheaffer shared it on her blog. I will splurge and get one of these one of these days.

Which do you like best?

I'm going to be "Egging" some houses today. I found this idea on The Larson Lingo blog, and thought I'd do this for the kids at our church (there's only 4 kids/2 families) and my niece today. I love that it mentions Jesus' empty tomb so the kids have fun with it and remember the reason for the holiday.

I'm so so excited for Easter Sunday. Today is the day that Jesus died on the cross for our sins. His love and sacrifice for each of us brings me to my knees. And Sunday, we will celebrate his resurrection. I hope each of you know Jesus and his love for you.

After Easter service, I'll be hosting Easter lunch for my parents and sister's family. My parent's kitchen is still under construction, so I offered to host. It will be simple, but I hope it turns out well. Ya never know when I'm in the kitchen.

Happy Easter, friends. Hope each of you have a marvelous weekend.

Cheesy Chicken Spaghetti

I got in my head yesterday that I was going to cook, which doesn't happen often. At all.
While at the grocery, I decided to do that Cheesy Chicken Spaghetti that I had seen all over pinterest and facebook.

I didn't really have high hopes for this, since I'm not quite Julia Child, but let me tell you, you will want this recipe. It was delish.

Ingredients:
1 box of spaghetti (I only used half since I heard this makes tons!)
1 small box of Velveeta- cubed
1 can of cream of mushroom soup
1 can Rotel
1 rotisserie chicken (not pictured)

Step 1
Cook spaghetti to al dente.

Step 2
While cooking spaghetti, pull chicken off bone.

Step 3
Drain cooked spaghetti and mix with Rotel, cream of mushroom soup, Velveeta, and chicken.

Step 4
Put spaghetti mixture in casserole dish and bake at 350 degrees for about 15 minutes.

Step 5
Give the mixture a good stir to mix in all of the melted cheese.

I topped my spaghetti with some grated Parmesan cheese.

Talk about some good ole comfort food. This was so yummy, you guys! Perfect for a chilly night at home. Quick. Easy. And delish!

Of course it would have to be for me to pull it off! ;)

{Show & Tell} A Mixed-Tape of My Life

I've got a super fun post for today, ladies.

Andrea, from Momfessionals, wants to know what the mixed-tape of our life would be.
Well, let me tell you...mine is all over the place!

My other Show & Tell posts:

This will be fun. Sit back and take in all of this musical goodness.

Little Girl, Melanie

My parents listened to country when I was growing up, so I obviously followed their lead. The earliest singer I can remember following is Clint Black. I remember one of my aunts mailing me a clipping of him because I had such a crush on his music, and I was SO embarrassed when I opened it. Too funny.

Kindergarten

My next memory of music is me belting out this song all day, every day. Even on the bus for the older kids. Because I thought I had the voice of an angel. Duh.

Elementary School

Then began my obsession with New Kids on the Block. Hangin' Tough and You've Got The Right Stuff....baby. Dolls. Cassette tapes. VHS of their concert. Everything. Girl was obsessed.  (Fast forward 25 years....imagine my excitement when I got to see them in concert 2-3 years ago.)

Middle School

I began playing basketball the end of elementary school and through middle school. So, I wore Adidas pants, tennis shoes, basketball tees, and was basically a baller. Or so I thought. And I listened to cds like these on and off the court. Imagine a group of 7th grade girls decked out in their basketball gear, rocking out to "crowd-pumpin grooves". Haha. Too funny.

High School

Then I became obsessed with boy bands again. Hey, Brian, from BSB, who also happened to be from Kentucky so I thought we were a match made in heaven! I even got to see them in concert, and thought I was big stuff....from way up in the rafters!

Then N'Sync and Justin came along, and my loyalty shifted when I got to also see them in concert.

This guy opened for NSync, and I remember thinking this was the raciest, most fun song ever! When it comes on XM, I still jam out! "Dumps like a truck. truck. truck." Hahaha

High School- Jr and Sr year

Then one of the greatest songs ever was released my junior year. Every time I hear this song, Country Grammar, I think of my last two years in high school. This song never gets old. (Deja vu moment- imagine my excitement when Nelly started singing this song in concert 2 years ago. I went crazy!)

Graduation

Then high school graduation came (in 2002), and this song was everywhere, as were the tears.

College

Then I went to college, and this was around the time Kanye West hit the airwaves with Through the Wire. I loved it. Little did I know what a psycho he was. But darn it, I like his songs!

20s

Nothing really stands after college and into work. Life was just too busy to remember music and songs and such. Right? Also, I feel like I'm running out of writing juice mojo. Forgive me.

30s

And now here we are. At the Adele stage in life where everything is a reflection and trying to see the future. Who knows. But I'll take it.

Do any of these songs make your mixed tape?
