CaraMia Pupcake Smith

My little baby, Mia, gained her angel wings a week ago today.

I am completely heartbroken and miss her so much.

I walk into the house and think I hear her whine to get out.

I sit and hear her snores.

I go to bed and turn around to put her up there with me.

I have her buried in my yard, and I plan on getting a stone for her. I walk by and want to talk to her.

Mia was always there when I was having a bad day. I'd cry and she would lick my face, always making me feel better.

I've had so many thoughtful texts, calls, and messages from my friends, and I'm so grateful that you all understand my pain.

It's amazing how much a 2 pound animal can impact your life, but little CaraMia Pupcake had a personality much bigger than her 2 pounds.

I miss my pup every single day, but know she is frolicking in the grass over the rainbow bridge.

Partially Prepared Pecan Pie

If you're looking for something sweet, this recipe is perfect!
It will knock you off your feet it's so sweet!

My friend, Brittany Young, shared this recipe on her facebook page not long ago, and I knew this would be perfect for Thanksgiving!

First, let's start with the ingredients.

You will need:
-2 pecan pies, already prepared
-chocolate syrup
-caramel syrup
-1.5 cups heavy cream
-1 block cream cheese
-1.5 tsp vanilla (not pictured)

Put your pecan pies on a cutting board. Here's where the "partially prepared" comes into play.

Cut into appx 1" cubes.

Mix softened cream cheese, heavy cream, and vanilla until thickened.

Sorry for the shadows on the photos friends. My kitchen has terrible lighting.

Place some of the pie in the bottom of your bowl. I've lost my trifle bowl, so I borrowed a plain glass bowl from my mom.

Pour some of the cream cheese mixture on top.

Then squeeze some chocolate and caramel syrup on top.

Repeat layer.

And refrigerate until time to serve.

Isn't that pretty?

All of the flavors just mesh so well, and this dessert is scrumptious!
Try this; your taste buds will thank me!

And here's Brittany's video of her making the fabulously sweet dessert.

Not only will you love this dish, but your family and friends will rave about it. I got so many compliments on this dish. Thanks for sharing, Brittany!

5 Problems with Gilmore Girls: A Year in The Life

Like the majority of the nation, I, too, was so excited that the Gilmore Girls was coming back! Like super excited!

Photo via

On Friday afternoon, I settled in; ready for a binge.

I ended up watching 3 episodes- Winter, Spring, and Summer. And I will be honest, I just couldn't keep my eyes open for the last one.
1. Because it was late
2. Because I was so (dare I say it???) bored!

I'm so so glad that the GGs were back, but a few of the story lines were problematic for me.

The Musical
What the heck did this have to do with anything? I'm still confused! And I seriously dozed off during it. Anyone know the significance of this?

Logan was engaged!
And Rory didn't care. Not at all. When I saw him walk out of the bedroom in London in the beginning I had my arms raised in triumph. Only to learn that he was engaged and this was a secret rendezvous.  While we all like to think Rory is a moral saint, she hasn't had the best record with men in the past (hello, Dean while married!) Why couldn't Rory just be with him and him with her and no one else?

Lorelei's Hike
I'm sorry. Where did this come from? You just up and leave Luke and tell him you don't know when you're coming back? Typical Lorelei. Typical. Luckily it didn't take long for you to realize that you should get home, and get back to Luke! Because Luke is the best!

Last 4 Words
Evil. That's just pure evil to leave all of us hanging like that. I mean we all assume it's Logan's baby, but what if it's the Wookie one night stand baby? And now, we will never know. Evil.

Rory is Unhappy
Throughout the whole 4 part series, Rory is unhappy. She isn't where she thought she'd be in her career or relationships. Nothing turned out like she thought. I mean, she's back in Stars Hollow at the danged Gazette. But maybe that's what makes this series so great, because it is so relatable. I mean, look at me. I'm not anywhere near where I thought I'd be either.  And it's depressing. But I just want Rory to be happy! And me too!

Now don't get me wrong, I will always be a Gilmore fan. Always. While I was a tad disappointed with this re-make, I still loved it.  Does that even make sense? There were so many parts of this short comeback that I just loved! And I'm still SO glad that the girls came back for a short time.

What about you? What did you love/hate about the GGs?

Girl's Guide to Fall

Happy Black Friday, friends! I hope your bellies are still full, and you're still at home snuggled up in bed or on the couch having a lazy day! Hopefully I will be too!

Today, I'm sharing the basic girl's guide to fall. If you want to be basic, make sure you have all of these super cute items in your closet!

The Basic Girl's Guide to Fall

Puff vest- these layer so well and make any outfit a tad warmer!

Felt floppy hat- I've wanted one of these forever. I just don't look good in them.

Choker- Join the trend train, and grab one of these. You know I'm anti-choker, but this one is pretty cute.

Blanket scarf- are you even a blogger if you don't own one?

Dark lip- Yes. Just yes.

Booties- A staple for any cool weather ensemble.

Barrington Bags- You haven't made it in the blog world until you rock the Barrington tote and give your readers your own discount code. #goals

Starbucks- Because duh.

I've already got most of these in my closet, but I wouldn't be sad if the rest just showed up!

What would you add to the list?

Glass Art Class

A few days ago, I was lucky enough to be invited to attend a glass art class.

And let me be honest, I was so nervous!

1. I'm not crafty or artistic. At all.
2. It was a little pricier than most other classes, so I wanted it to be perfect!
3. I couldn't decide, for the life of me, what to create. Like people were gathering their glass pieces, and I was still trying to narrow it down.

It was held at The Paint'n Place in Bowling Green, KY.

I think it is essentially a place where you can choose pottery to decorate for yourself or gifts.

And they host parties too, for kids' birthdays and adult parties, etc.

Seriously a cool place. And here are some examples of what they have in their shop.

Our sweet host, Elizabeth, had snacks set up for us. Delicious!
And see that colorful platter of red, white, and green? That dip is amazing! Find the recipe is here

Bins and bins of broken glass.

These are the final 2 I was deciding on. A girl under an umbrella, because I love those scenes.

And a mason jar of flowers, to match the print in my dining room.

Why did make such a big deal? No idea, but I worried about it for a week! Haha

Here is our host, Elizabeth, of Elizabeth Rhodes Studio talking to us about the process.

My friend, Kathy, choosing her glass.

And Amelia choosing her glass.

While other friends were picking up glass for their designs, I finally chose mine. The girl with the umbrella! Thanks to everyone for helping me decide!

I sketched it out, but didn't like it, so Ms. Elizabeth helped me.

Here I am cutting glass! Scary!

I'm putting this piece in my reading room with the leopard chair, so I chose to do a brown umbrella. Luckily, Elizabeth had some glass that looked like animal print, so it will match perfectly!

The original I saw had dark blue dress. My walls are coral, so I almost went with a orange/pink dress since they didn't necessarily have coral glass. Then I thought this blue was beautiful, and it would be a nice pop of color in that room.

Elizabeth cut the "skin" pieces for me; the neck, arms, and legs!

Amelia assembling her Scottie dog.

Tonya working on her Disney castle.

I also added some "rain" drops to my piece.

Here's Kathy's vase of Sunflowers.

Amy's beach scene.

Look how cute Kathy is in here own apron!

Amelia's Scottie dog is coming along!

Bethany's castle

Another beach scene

Will's truck with a Christmas tree.

He's the cutest and has the best personality!

Macy's Kentucky

A tractor, perfect for her farmhouse.

Amelia finished her Scottie dog! Look how cute!

And my finished piece.

After we left, Elizabeth will pour apoxy on top to seal everything. We'll get these back at the end of the day. I can't wait to see!

Here I am with Elizabeth.

And here are the over-achievers- me, Amelia, and Kathy. We finished up and headed home.

I can't tell you how much fun we had creating this glass art. I cannot wait to display this piece, made by me, in my home!

If you are close to BG, you need to check out The Paint'n Place and Elizabeth's designs. She is phenomenally talented and I can't recommend her enough!

Now, who wants to go back with me?
