Friday Faves!

Another Friday, another round of Friday Favorites.

My absolute favorite this week has been this snapchat filter.
I mean really.
Btw- if you want to follow me on snapchat, my username is melanie_ks. :)

Another favorite? SCHOOL SUPPLIES!
My former student/teacher/nerd heart loves this section!

Influenster sent me a box full of awesome Loreal Makeup products, and this Brow Stylist kit was my favorite! It's subtle, but a really good way to fill in those brows!

I'm out shopping with my mom today, which is one of my all-time favorites!

And finally, TGIF!

What's Up Wednesday

I haven't done one of these in a hot minute, so let me share what I've been up to!

And if you want to join in, here's the fresh list....

What I'm Eating
I'm cooking this week, some...., so it's been an experiment of different new recipes.
Here's the Bubbly Pizza recipe I made Monday night.

And the Banana Bread I also made Monday night.

And then I cheated and had Olive Garden last night because I already had plans.

I also have plans for some plain ole Bacon and Tomato sandwiches, Taco Salads, and a new (to me) Chicken Casserole and Roasted Potatoes. I'll let you  know how the casserole turns out.

What I'm Reminiscing About
A year ago this month, I attended my first ever FAB conference for Silpada and had the time of my life! Unfortantely they are closing down, and that means no more awesome conferences or amazing jewelry, and it makes me miss last year's conference even more.
Here I am with the co-CEOs, Ryane and Kelsey.

What I'm Loving
Lake time....even though weekends are so so busy and I'm not out there near enough!

What I've Been Up To
Same ole, same ole. Spending money....eating....sleeping.... the usual.

What I'm Dreading
Can't think of a thing....except this dang weather that could possibly worse than the fiery pits of hell....

What I'm Working On
Trying to be a better blogger.....but eh.

What I'm Excited About
Shopping trip with my momma on Friday. Funds are low, but it will be a good time!

What I'm Watching/Reading
Netflix: Jane the Virgin (season 2) and just finished Grace & Frankie (season 2).
If you haven't seen Grace & Frankie, you need to watch. So funny!

Reading: 90 Minutes in Heaven

What I'm Listening To

Because JT is everything.

What I'm Wearing
I went to TJ Maxx with a friend last night, just to look since I'm shopping with Mom Friday. Of course, I find a cart load of super cute clothes. I settled on these 3 tops....

Long. Loose. Light. Right up my alley.

What I'm Doing This Weekend
To be honest, I don't even have weekend plans. And I'm loving that.

What I'm Looking Forward To Next Month
Even though I'm no longer a student or a teacher, I absolutely love back to school time. I perused the aisles at Target last night and it just made me so happy! Locker chandeliers and disco lights? Scented markers? Fun planners? I love it all!

What Else Is New
Nothing at all. I've got quite a "to-do" list for my house, so I really need to start marking some stuff off. Maybe soon!

Bonus: What's Your Favorite Part About Summer?
Obviously lake time, as I'm sure you could guess.

So that's what's up! What's up with y'all?
Link up with Shay, Mel, and Sheaffer and share your "What's Up Wednesday" posts!

Until next time.....

Bubbly Pizza: A Pinterest Recipe

I was perusing my Food pinterest board yesterday, looking for ideas for dinners before I went to the grocery. This recipe for Bubbly Pizza popped up, and I quickly added it to the list.

Here's what I bought for Bubbly Pizza-

1 jar of spaghetti sauce
1 large can of biscuits (or 2 small)
1 small package of pepperoni
1 package of mozzarella cheese

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
2. Cut biscuits into quarters.

3. Spray/grease baking dish.

4. Place biscuit quarters into dish.

5. Add toppings
You can go crazy with this step. I decided to just do pepperoni, but you could add sausage, peppers, onions, ham, pineapple....the skies the limit here.

6. Pour sauce over biscuits and toppings.
I used about 1/2 a jar, but I personally would have liked more.

7. Oops. I forgot the fresh mushrooms.
I actually bought these for another recipe, but added some to my pizza. SO GOOD!

8. Top with cheese.
I used about 1/2 a bag (appx 1 cup).

9. Pop in the oven.
I had to cook for about an hour, but the original poster said 20-30 minutes. I guess every oven is different.

And when it's finished, you have Bubbly Pizza!

This was really good. I think it will be perfect for those of you with kiddos- how much fun would they have throwing this together?!

If you make this, let me know what you think!

Sausage -n- Cream Cheese Cups

This little appetizer is one of my favorites for several reasons.

1. It's easy. That's most important for me.
2. It's quick.
3. It's inexpensive.
4. It's so so yummy!

And you know it's an easy recipe when it only has 3 steps and 3 ingredients!
This recipe is perfect for me!

- Roll of sausage
-Block of cream cheese
- 3 boxes of Phyllo cups (in freezer section)

1. Brown sausage and drain
2. In same skillet, mix cream cheese and sausage
3. Spoon mixture into Phyllo cups.

Each box of 15 cups and I used all of the mixture in 3 boxes, so it yields 45 cups.

I took these to our VBS Commencement Sunday night, and came home with an empty platter. I'm telling you, so good!

Show & Tell Tuesday: Home Tour

Y'all know I love a linkup, and when Andrea shared that today's Show and Tell Tuesday linkup would be a home tour, I got so excited! I LOVE seeing inside other's homes. Call me nosy-rosy if you will.

But then I was hesitant to do my own post because my house is not finished. I moved in 9 months ago, and I'm still working on making it mine. Slowly, but surely, I will get there. But not there yet.

I decided to go on and share my little home with you all anyway. The good, the bad, and the still ugly.
Just remember, it's a work in progress!!!!!

Here's my little house with the pink door.

Outside to-do:
1. Landscaping
2. Paint shutters a darker shade

Living Room
You've already seen a room reveal here, but if not, go back and see!
Btw- It's one of my most popular posts!

Dining Room

 1. Paint over that orange wall.
2. Add curtains

1. Paint orange wall (continued from dining room)
2. Change curtain

Powder Room
The ceiling in this room was also orange, but I decided to paint it pink one day. I'm still deciding on what shade to do the walls, but I'm going with a light pink....eventually!

1. Choose a color
2. Paint walls
3. Hang small chandelier

1. Find and change wall art.
2. Change light fixture- you can't see it, but it's UGLY!

Bedroom 1 / Reading Room

1. Find and hang curtains
2. Hang up pictures/wall art
3. Find rug

 Bedroom 3/Guest Room

1. Find curtains and hang
2. Hang wall art

This room needs the most work! I feel like when the previous owners did a remodel, they left this room off their list.

1. Remove wallpaper
2. Paint
3. Find shower curtain
4. Find and hang chandelier

My bedroom

1. Touch up paint over windows
2. Find new curtains
3. More wall art

As you can see, I still have a lot to do! But that's ok. I'm in no rush, and want to find the perfect pieces and not just buy something to buy because it's empty, ya know?

I love my little house! What do you think?

Weekend Recap

This weekend was so much fun! It was kind of low-key, but I loved it!

Hang on for the ride.....

On Saturday afternoon, I got to take my niece to the movies with some friends to see The Secret Life of Pets.

While the movie was kind of boring, (all of the good parts were in the previews), Raelyn had fun and it was fun seeing her interact with the other kiddos. She's at such a fun age, and I just want to keep her 4 forever.

At the end of the movie, she let me take her pic in front of the sign. I don't know about other 4 year olds, but sometimes pictures are okay and other times it is absolutely not an option to get a picture. She's definitely a 4-nager.

I also got to try out a box full of goodies sent to me by Influenster and Loreal Paris.
I really really liked the Voluminous primer and mascara. The eyshadows were really pretty colors, and I can't wait to try the Brow Stylist. #ad

This Silpada necklace came in the mail Saturday, and I am obsessed with it. When I started Silpada, it was only sterling silver. They then moved to the brass K&R collection, but I was late to hop on board. I'm excited to put some gold pieces back into my collection.

Btw- HUGE sale going on at Silpada right now. HUGE!

Our VBS commencement was last night, so I decided to make these little appetizers because they are so easy and so yummy! I'll share recipe tomorrow, so come back!

Now it's Monday and we are settling in for another busy week. Hope your Monday is fabulous!
