What's Up Wednesday

Linking up to share today.

1. What I'm Eating
Since my trip, I've been trying to do better. Sometimes it works, sometimes not. I've been eating grilled stuff. I've also been trying to drink more fruit-infused water, e.g. lemon and orange water.

2. What I'm Reminiscing About
My time in Kansas City two weeks ago. I went to the FAB Conference and had the best time, met some amazing women, and it rejuvenated my reason for joining Silpada- money, jewelry, and fun!

3. What I'm Loving
My new purse. I bought so many fabulous pieces of jewelry that I haven't been able to wear them all yet, but my absolute favorite purchase is my new bag. The Dakota bag is genuine leather. With fringe. And it makes my heart happy. See it here.

4. What I've Been Up To
Today I've been planning the youth lesson for church tonight. I'm subbing for the lady that usually does it for a few Wednesdays while she has class, and while it's hard to keep their attention, I enjoy it.

5. What I'm Dreading
More humidity. My hair can't handle it. I sweat as soon as I step outside. It's awful. Gimme fall and winter any day of the week.

6. What I'm Working On
Purging the excess in my life. It's a continuous struggle to get rid of things that are just cluttering my house. I don't need that, so why am I hanging on to it??

7. What I'm Excited About
My Silpada party on Saturday. If you want to look and order, go here!

8. What I'm Reading/Watching
Reading: The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up by Marie Kondo (hence my working on decluttering). I also just this week finished Nobody's Cuter Than You by Melanie Shankle. Such a sweet story of Melanie's friendships through life. If you haven't read this, you should. And p.s. Everyone needs a Gully.

Watching: Still on Gilmore Girls  on Netflix. It's a slow process. Real Housewives of OC and NYC, Big Brother, Devious Maids, and PLL are being dvr'd so I can keep up with real tv.

9. What I'm Listening To
Nothing really on my playlists; they're old. But the guy in the next office, my step-brother, is watching Man vs. Food. I wonder if it's hot chicken wings today or a 15 lb. burrito.

10. What I'm Wearing
Navy and white palazzo pants, a coral top, and wedges...and lots of Silpada. Layers, baby.

11. What I'm Doing This Weekend
I've mentioned my Silpada party a time or two. I was also invited to a 1 year old's bday party, and I hope to get time on the boat at the lake. Sun!

12. What I'm Looking Forward To Next Month
Vegas, baby! I'm going for a long weekend next month.

13. What Else Is New
Nothing! My life is a bore, which should mean I'm watching more Netflix, but nope.

Link up with the ladies, Mix & Match Mama, Pinterest Told Me To, and The Larson Lingo and let us know what you've been up to lately!

Bachelorette Finale

Let me just say this is the first season of any show on the Bachelor franchise that I've ever watched all the way through. Ever.

And you know why I did? 2 reasons.

1. So I could keep up with all of you twitter heifers who only tweet about the Bachelor every Monday night.

2. So I could read the hilarious recaps every week written by Sheaffer from Pinterest Told Me To and actually know what she's referencing. Seriously these are the best posts ever.

So I start from the beginning and immediately think, "Hey. Kaitlyn seems like a cool chick. I could totally be bffs with her. And we could double date, as long as she gave me one of the hotties. Like one of the Bens. Or Shawn B.

I was totally feeling Shawn B, for Kaitlyn or for me, during the San Antonia day date. Loved him.

And Nick? Hated him. Totally not fair for him to be coming in mid-season. Nobody needed to hear about their "private time" coughcough. Be honest, hearing the moans totally grossed you out too, didn't it?
Via

But time went on. Shawn became jealous and mumbly (it's a word now) and kind of annoying to be honest.
Via

And Nick became totally adorable and I finally thought, "he's perfect for her". The morning after their night together was so sweet and I became Team Nick. Even though I wanted to be Team Shawn.

Via

And then the finale came and lasted for hours and hours and I was struggling to stay awake. And Nick was perfect with the family. And I was like "they are the cutest couple".

And then the rose ceremony and you can totally see it in her face, and Nick keeps talking, and I want to be like, "Nick, honey, please just stop." But he can't, and finally she just puts her hands on him to keep him from proposing.
Via

And then I get sad. And angry. And heartbroken for poor Nick. This is twice he's been through this. And she totally led him on. And the editors and producers totally led the viewers on because we all thought Nick was the one.

As WhyHiTy said, "Rebound this way, Nick." Any my heart breaks even more for Nick. Poor guy.

And I'm glad my bff found love with Gosling look-alike, Shawn, but my heart hurts for Nick.

Is it too soon for a double date? Me and Nick. Kaitlyn and Shawn? Too soon?

Twitter Faves 11

It's been awhile since I've blogged, thanks to being super busy and going on a little Silpada trip. But I'm back and I'm sharing my favorite Twitter Faves from the past few days/weeks.

After attending conference, I'm really trying to focus on growing my business. I truly think we have THE best jewelry, and I'm going to focus on customers- new and loyal!

I love Lisa Rinna. She was fabulous on the RHOBH, and I love her presence on social media. This. This is what I strive for. To be me. Not to change or alter myself for others.

Is this why my clothes are fitting a little more snug lately? Because I'm taking pics of my food?

Yep. Me.

No, Shane. I actually thought about this twice last week as I walked through the airport. I was also looking for the guy waiting for me with a sign and some flowers.

Oh girl. Me either. ;)

And along those same lines... Yes, this IS the greatest of all time.

Seriously, Apple. Stop making us have those things.

Happy Fry Day, guys.

I mean Friday. That ^^^^ is definitely why my clothes are too snug.

 Oops.

Baby Shower Gift

I don't know about y'all, but I feel like everyone I know is with child. My facebook timeline is filled with ultrasound pictures, shower invites, and nursery photos. Let's be honest, my bloglovin' feed is about the same way. I guess that's just the season we are in.

I typically just buy off of the registry. I've heard of people that get frustrated when a gift they've received isn't one they've registered for, so by golly, I look at that registry. Diapers. Wipes. Shampoos and lotions. Easy peasy, lemon squeezy.

One of my friends is pregnant with her second child, so she wasn't registering. "What to do," I thought. So when I got an invite her small sprinkle, I wanted to do something a little different. Fun. Cutesy. And hopefully she would love it.

I immediately went to pinterest, and found the cutest idea yet. A "Rub a dub dub tub".

So I got to shopping. I found all kinds of cute stuff for the bath- wash cloths, hooded towel, rubber animal toys, shampoo, lotion, a bath time book. I bought a huge jar from Target and crammed everything inside. (I originally bought the medium size, but it was way too small. Go for the large one if you re-create this.)

Then I printed off a little card that said "Rub a dub dub, Grayson", put some ribbon around the jar, and BAM!  Cute little gift for mom and baby.

I thought it turned out super cute, and honestly, it's my favorite gift to date.

What do you all think?

What I'm [Trying] To Watch

I'm in a hard spot guys.

I've finished Friday Night Lights & Grace and Frankie, and I just don't know what to do next.

There's lots of shows on My List, but none of them are speaking to me.

I've tried Californication.

I've tried Lost.

I've tried Dexter.

I've tried Gilmore Girls.

And nothing is jumping out at me saying, "Hey, Mel! WATCH ME!" Nothing is keeping my attention.

So I ask you, Netflix-obsessed readers, what do you think? Which of the above should I give another go?

Scrub-a-dub-dub

If you're from the south, you know the weather this month has been rainy. Super rainy. Needless to say, our 4th of July weekend was spent with clouds, rain, and storms.

On Friday night, I attended an outdoor bbq. There were lots of tents, so we were all dry. Except for our feet. The ground was saturated and with 150 people, the grass was flattened and the mud was coming up.

I had mud between my toes and up to my ankles. If you know me, you know I don't do dirt and mud, so as soon as I got home, I raced to the shower. I took off my glasses, pulled back my hair, and hopped in.

I paid extra attention to the dried mud on my feet and ankles. I would pump soap into my hand and scrub away. I kept seeing one spot of mud on the top of my left foot that would just not come clean. No matter how much soap I used or scrubbing I did, it would not come off.

I squinted, bent down a little closer, and just started laughing at myself in the shower.

Guess what it was?

No, it wasn't mud.

It was my frickin tattoo.

I had been blindly (no glasses in the shower, remember) trying to scrub off that dark spot for I don't know how long.

Guess what y'all? Soap doesn't remove tattoos.

Yep. I'm an idiot. A blind idiot.

What I'm Reading

I love seeing what bloggers are reading and what they think of the books. These two were recommended personally by friends of mine, and I can't wait to get into them to see what the hype is about.

I usually only stick to one book at a time, but since both of these are non-fiction, I thought I could handle two at once. I know many people can successfully read two, three, and even more books at a time, but not me. This brain can't keep up!

First- The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up by Marie Kondo. The sub-title, the Japanese art of decluttering and organizing, is something I desperately need to tackle.

My friend read this, and she said it has honestly "changed her life". The phrase that keeps sticking out in my mind, because she keeps reminding me, is "Does it spark JOY?" Anything I look to buy, she says to ask myself, "does it spark JOY?" I haven't even read the book, and I'm already implementing that one phrase into my life. I can't wait

Second- Nobody's Cuter Than You by Melanie Shankle. I know several bloggers have talked about how great Shankle's books are, and a friend of mine has read them too. The first two are about motherhood and marriage, which I know nothing about.

This one is on friendship, so I knew this would be one I could relate to. My friend said this was her favorite. She also said she wishes she had a "Gully". I don't know what that means yet, but she said Gully is the type of friend everyone needs. Lastly, since the author's name is Melanie, I had to add it to my list.

Many of the books I read are based on recommendations, just as these two are. Have you read these? What did you think? What books do you recommend?

Wanna see what else I've read? Find me on goodreads!
