2015 Favorite Things

My favorite posts are when I share my favorite things with you. (So I guess that could be #1 on my list, technically.) And I love reading about everyone else's faves too. I don't know what the appeal is, but I do.

So today I'm linking up with some of my favorite bloggers to share my favorite things from this past year. BTW- how the holy moses is it already 2016? I'm getting so old.....

I decided at the beginning of 2015 that I needed to be back in church. I'm lucky that I have wonderful, Christian friends and family that encouraged me without being pushy and judgmental. I am now going regularly, am active in church activities, and love my church and church family. It's just what I needed, and I am so happy and content with this crazy life.

I'm a little notorious for changing my mind all the dang time. So it's no surprise I got not one, but two different cars this year. I cant say "new" because they aren't. I loved the Edge, and honestly wouldn't mind having another. Just not in black; I can't for the life of me keep black clean!

Then I got this Rogue. I love it too, but you guys, NO POWER. I'm a little speed demon and need something with a little more get up and go. I'm ready for something else, so we shall see what 2016 brings.

In June, I attended the Silpada Designs FAB event and had the best time. I got to meet Ryane and Kelsey, the two phenomenal women behind Silpada. They are current co-ceos and their mothers actually created Silpada. Amazing!

I love unique, funky places, and Paradise Point is just that. I went with some friends to have a hot dog (what they're known for) and an ice cream cone one Sunday after church. Finally! It's just down the road from me, and I had never been! Crazy, right?

I'm at that age. Everyone I know is married, pregnant, or already has 5 kids. (Everyone but me, that is.) And honestly, I was so excited when two of my best friends had littles this year. Welcome to the world, Grayson and John Benjamin! And yes, there will be lots more babies in 2016!

Lake time is always a favorite of mine. Always.

I got to take another trip in September, and it did not disappoint. My Vegas partner in crime, Meg, and her husband, Kyle, and I made another trip to Vegas. So. Much. Fun. Food. Shopping. Cirque shows. Slot machines. I'm ready to go back!

I was super pumped to see former Cats return to Rupp for an NBA pre-season game. My faves, Big Cuz, Willie, Rondo, and ole unibrow himself, Anthony Davis. So much fun!

I've just recently shared about my trip to see my bff, the funniest woman in America, Amy Schumer. She was hysterical.

And finally, probably the biggest event of 2015, was purchasing my house in October, one day before my birthday! I moved in the weekend before Thanksgiving, and things are still a mess, but I'm so excited I have another place to call home.

I hope your 2015 was just as wonderful as mine. Cheers to 2016, y'all!

My Family is Better Than Your Family

You guys.

I had THE best Christmas ever.

This family is everything.

While it went by in lightning fast speed, I enjoyed every bit of the time I spent with family and friends.

What happens when you tell Raelyn to "pose".

I was more than spoiled; my family gave and spent way too much money on me. But I loved every single thing that I was given.

Rae loved helping me open gifts!

I even gave myself a few gifts this Christmas. But that's a post for another time.

We are starting a trend- fish faces!

And the icing on the cake was spending it all with this sweet, rambunctious, sassy little 3 year old. She makes everything more fun.

And I'm so glad we got to spend another Christmas with my sweet Nanny.

She is almost 90, and is the only grandparent I still have living. Time with her is always precious.

I wouldn't change one single thing about this Christmas.

Whoever heard of Mule riding on Christmas day? And it's a Mule. Not a moose.

 Except for the weather.

Doesn't it look like spring time? Crazy!
We had 70+ degree weather all week, and while it was nice, it wasn't Christmas weather. I want snow flurries and sweaters and mittens in the winter.

This holiday was just perfect. I hope your  Christmas was just as nice.

Last-Minute Gift Ideas

Ok, guys and girls. You have two days to get those presents bought, wrapped, and under the tree. And if you haven't done so yet, you are totally stressing me out!!!! I was finished by Thanksgiving. Thank you very much. Because otherwise, I would have major anxiety!

But if you are the total opposite of me and still have some gifts to purchase, let me give you a few ideas....

Hello?! Who wouldn't love to hear this glorious angelic creature's voice on Christmas morning?

I got one of these cuties for my birthday, and love it! Mine is the shiney gold and I have my monogram on it. It's perfect! They have these at my local Hallmart and a few gift shops, so I'm sure they should be easy to find.

This bag is so simple and goes with e.v.e.r.y.t.h.i.n.g! It is saffiano leather and will last forever! I talked a friend of mine into getting it for his wife. She will love it. He got her this exact color (luggage) because it is so versatile, but a fun pop of color would be a great choice too!

These have been hits the past few years, and I think this one would be perfect for 2015. I have yet to own a pallet, but I think this one is at the top of my list!

I've been wanting these exact slippers for at least 3 years and just refuse to buy them for myself. I'd love for these to be under my tree. AND I just noticed that you can get them by Christmas! Score!

Gift Certificate

And finally, if all else fails, get her a gift card to somewhere or for something she wouldn't buy for herself! A massage. A nice bag. A fancy restaurant. Make it even more fun by putting together a gift card bouquet or with something that is coordinating to the gift.

Aren't these great ideas?! I would love to see any of these gifts under my tree!

Merry Christmas, friends!

Top 5 Christmas Movies

It's that time. Christmas time is here. And it's the time to curl up on the couch with a warm drink, a cozy blanket, a fire going, lights twinkling, and a Christmas movie on the tv.

Most of the time, my tv is on Lifetime or Hallmark this time of year. I love a good romantic story line this time of year. But then there are those movies that I watch over and over again. The "classics" if you will.

5. Elf

4. All I Want For Christmas

3. The Holiday

2. Christmas Vacation

1. Home Alone

I could watch each of these over and over again. Love them!

What are your favorites?

Amy Freaking Schumer

I drove to Nashville to see my best friend on Friday. Who is that, you may ask?

The funniest woman on Earth.

People's most intriguing woman of the year.

She's famous.

And my spirit animal.

It's Amy Freaking Schumer

She just doesn't know it.

My original bff, Meg, got us tickets. And I was so dang excited. Can't you tell by the frizz in my hair? I mean it was a big moment.

She was so funny.

Very very vulgar, but funny.

Booze is my boyfriend.
Katie Couric.
Alabama Hot Pocket.

Just hilarious.

I may or may not have talked like her the entire ride home. Meh.

And watched Trainwreck the next night.

And then one of my tweets made this site.

Basically what I'm saying is, go see her. Or become her.

Friday Faves

Pssst. Anyone there? I went on a little blogging hiatus. To be honest, I just wasn't sure if anyone was still reading, and I thought....why stress if no one is out there. So....are you? Are you reading? If so, please let me know. If not, I will go back into hiding.

And if you ARE reading, well here are a few of my Friday Favorites! They're good.

Linking up with Andrea, Erika, and Narci today. Duh.

I just moved and decided to almost start from scratch with my "look". I've been loving all of the neutral rooms I'm seeing on Pinterest, so that's what I was going for. After looking forever, I finally decided on this couch and ottoman. I thought a fun pop of color would be good for the ottoman. Every thing else is neutral and silver and gold. I'll share more later on the move and my new house!

I'm loving this Christmas mug I got from my Friendsmas last year. I can't wait for this year's party with my closest friends.  Coffee and hot cocoa tastes so much better from a cute mug!

I love love love ornaments, and these are two I got for this year. I bought this home one myself from a local boutique. I love the home stuff.

And my sweet momma got me this one this week. Love it!

I was finished Christmas shopping when Black Friday hit, so I spent a lot of money on myself. Oops. #shopaholic
A friend posted a box of Huggable Hangers on sale from HSN, and I just had to have some. I've always been curious about them and if they are really as space saving as they say. So I got 60. And I love them. All of these tops were on two racks. Now, they're all on one. I'm a major fan. And need more.

And as always, I love Mia. Even when she wakes me up all through the night to go out. Even when she pees and poops in the floor. Or pees in the bed. :/ I love her my little Yorkie.
She's definitely a fave.
