Thoughts While "Exercising"

I woke up Sunday morning, and thought, "I want to be a runner." I've always been envious of those crazy, lying bitches that claim to love it or that it's their hobby. So what better way to join them is to just get my fat butt out of bed and hit the pavement.

Needless to say, it did not turn out like I expected. I mean, I didn't plan to do a marathon or anything, but I thought I could at least make it more than 30 seconds. For the record, I did keep on walking. And I hated every single second of it.

So here are the random, unfiltered thoughts I had while running jogging walking.

It's hot out here. I hope I don't get sweaty.

I hate sweating. It makes me feel gross.

Yep, I feel a sweat bead on my forehead.

This Happy song that I thought would make me happy while out here isn't working. Next!

This music isn't really helping me along at all. I thought it would make it easier.

Ok. Let's start jogging.

Holy shit, my ankles are hurting already.

Let's walk some more before we start that mess.

My lungs are small. I'd think they would expand the bigger I got. Nope.

Give me some air!

I'm sweating now. I feel gross. Sweating is gross.

Oh, I wonder who lives over there now.

Let's try this again. I'm going to jog until I reach that sign up there.

Fat people shouldn't jog. I can feel my fat flopping around with each step.

I wish my boobs were big enough to flop around while running.

These Nikes aren't very comfortable.

My ankles are effing killing me. Are my bones coming out of my skin?

If I sprain another ankle, should I limp home or call someone to pick me up?

If I sprain both again, I wonder if I should just call the security guards from the hospital to pick me up? (They are basically across the street.) Let's save on that ambulance bill.

How much further until I'm home?

Now, I know these runners are full of shit. This sucks.

I'm never running again.

Let me tweet about how much I hate this.

Ohhh. This might make a good blog post.

Ankle Probs

If you’ve been with me awhile or followed me on twitter or instagram, then you couldn’t have missed my 2 sprained ankles in February and the problems I continue to have with them. Still. After over 2 months.

If you don’t remember- I stepped off some stairs, and sprained both ankles…AT THE SAME TIME… pretty badly. They were super painful, swollen, and I couldn’t walk for days. Surprisingly, I still have trouble with them.

Since I’m the queen of sunshine, I thought I’d make you all feel my pain. Or at least see what I’m talking about.

-They are still puffy. Like I have cankles. Even when I’ve done nothing.

-I went walking for awhile yesterday, and limped all night as a result.

-I tried jogging, and the pressure was intense, so I couldn’t do that long.

-I wake up and they are super stiff. Every morning.

-I can’t wear wedges or heels. I tried heels Easter morning and couldn’t even walk around the house. So I wore my trusted wedges. By the end of church, I was in major pain.

-When I wear sandals, my feet swell around the straps. It’s super attractive.

-And when that happens, I’m sure people that see them just think I have really fat feet.

So that’s what’s on my mind this morning. My ankles cankles. Anyone know how long they will be an issue?

I Confess...

I'm copying today. Tracie at Tracie Everyday decided to confess some goodies on her blog yesterday, and because I'm coming up blank when I open that blogger screen, I'm going to borrow her idea and confess some of my own dirt. Don't hate me because I'm unorginial.

I confess...I'm a complete and utter emotional wreck this week. I blame pms. And assholes. I may have cried all of Sunday night. And last night. And I almost burst into tears while eating my biscuit and gravy this morning. When my friend asked what happened to make me cry into my gravy, I had no reason. Damn hormones.

I confess... it makes you stop in your tracks when you walk out of the restaurant and you hear "Moooo". I shit you not. I stopped mid-stride with my mouth agape. Luckily, it was just a trailer of cows going down the road. Whew.

I confess...now I'm wondering if I should be even more offended that even the cows think I'm a fat ass.

I confess... I'm not a fan of non-fiction usually, so I was convinced Cal's book would bore me. (Ya know, the one I got signed Tuesday.) I love it. Can't put it down. It is so well-written! If you are a Kentucky fan, you must read this book!

I confess... I did absolutely nothing to my hair today. I took it out of the bun, it looked the exact same as it does when I "try" to fix it, so that's that. I wonder if anyone can tell?

I confess... I shut down the blog for a few days. I had decided I was done (for like the tenth time). Then all of a sudden I have tons of ideas to write about. Now that it's up again, I've lost all ideas. Gone. Poof. Go figure.

I confess... I've always been on the fence about sponsoring other bloggers. I'm all for it, then against it, much like everything else in my life. However, I'm SUPER EXCITED about sponsoring one of my favorite bloggers- The Other Juliette. Like stupidly excited. She's a hoot. Check her out.

Here's hoping my craziness subsides (who are we kidding, I'm always a mess), and that you all have a great Thursday! One more day folks, and the weekend is here!

Texas Bound

Guess where I’m headed, y’all. Obviously you know by the title, but my happy butt will be driving to North Texas late tonight to see the Cats battle Wisconsin for a trip to the championship game.

This is my very first time for a few things: seeing a final four, driving across the Mississippi River, and seeing Arkansas and Texas. I seriously could not be more excited!
I’ve got movies, my pillow and blanket, and a bag of snacks for the 11 hour drive. I also need to get some medicine to knock me out cause why not (and I’m also sick….so I best be in tip-top shape to enjoy the weekend!)

If UK wins, we are staying for the big game Monday, which means even more sight-seeing. Texas friends- What should I look for?
Everyone send happy thoughts for me getting better, the trip and our team. If you follow me on IG (melanie_ks), you better be ready for an annoying amount of trip pictures, cause they will be posted.
Oh…..and Go CATS!

White Lasagna

I’ve been craving this lasagna for awhile now, and finally remembered to buy the ingredients and make it this weekend. And let me tell you, it was amazing!

White Lasagna
-lasagna noodles
-jar of alfredo sauce
-2 cans of sliced mushrooms
-can of asparagus (I will leave out next time)
-1-2 cans of chunk chicken (diced) OR 1 package of ham (diced)
**I did one dish with ham. I made another dish with half ham and the other half was chicken. Either meat is really good.
-1 bag of mozzarella cheese

1. Cook lasagna noodles according to box.

2. Layer noodles, meat, asparagus, mushrooms, sauce, then cheese.

3. Repeat layers.

4. Top with noodles, then a layer of alfredo sauce, and top with cheese.

5. Bake at 350 degrees for appx. 45 minutes.

You seriously must try this recipe. If you do, please let me know how you like it!
