The Kind of Blogger I'm Not

I'm not the kind of blogger that takes constant selfies.

I'm not the kind of blogger that can or will post every single day.

I'm not the kind of blogger that drops hundreds of dollars on a single pair of shoes or a bag.

I'm not the kind of blogger that sugarcoats life.

I'm not the kind of blogger that has a ton of close girlfriends.

I'm not the kind of blogger that ignores comments/tweets/emails.

I'm not the kind of blogger that drinks wine or beer on the regular.

What kind of blogger are you not?

Current Tunes

I go through music cycles. I'll download a bunch of music, listen to it on repeat, and then do the same thing over and over again. I think most people are like that, right?

Well, I downloaded a few more songs this week, and I'm o.b.s.e.s.s.e.d. This first song has been on repeat. I started singing it at dinner last night. I danced to it in my chair at work. I've been humming it and singing it over and over again. Download it. Now.
I can't get enough of this song, you guys. So good.

"Blurred Lines" by Robin Thicke

"Cruise remix" by FGL and Nelly- I may have shared this one last time, but it's still on rotation.

"Mama's Broken Heart" by Miranda Lambert

"22" by T. Swift- Say what you will about the girl, but she puts out some catchy tunes.

"Lego House" by Ed Sheeran

"Madness" by Muse

What are you listening to? Fill me in on what you have on repeat so I can listen too!

Fill In The Blanks

I saw this somewhere on blog land a few weeks ago, and wrote down the categories to do one day. Unfortunately, I didn't write down the source. Oops.  Anywho, the day has come to finally fill in these blanks.

1//  If calories didn't count, I would eat chips and dip every single day. I love dip. Any and all dips.

2// On my prom night we partied in a field after prom. It's how it's done in Barren County.

3// When I go to the store, I always buy something to drink. I'm always thirsty. Can't help it.

4// Family functions typically bore me. Be honest- how many people actually like all of their family. I tolerate them because I have to. //  Edit: Let me be clearer- most of my family I like. It's the few that I don't that make it miserable.

5// I think my blog readers must lead much more interesting lives than me.

6// I'd much rather be on vacation. Every single day.

7// I have an obsession with tv. and twitter. The tv is always on and I have twitter pulled up most of the time.

8// My work friends don't exist. I work with all men, and while I like them all, I wouldn't say we are necessarily friends.

9// When I created my facebook account I was beginning college and barely anyone I knew had it yet.

10// My least favorite word is g--d---. I hate it. It makes my skin crawl.

11// I don't really remember my parents being together. I was 7 when they divorced.

12// Justin Beiber should disappear. Annoying. Just annoying.

Let me know if you fill in the blanks so I can see your answers too!

Words to Remember

Sometimes we go through things that are hard. And sometimes it's personal and you can't tell anyone but your nearest and dearest friends, and even that's tough sometimes.  I've been dealing with a situation for months, and I just can't let it go. Instead of going into details, because I just can't, I thought I'd post these instead. Maybe you can relate too.

TJ Maxx Window Shopping

I've been in a blogger funk the past few days. Well, to be honest, I've been in a funk in general for the past few months. It's true. Cue the pouty face. So I do what any woman does when she's feeling a little blue, I head to the stores.

My first stop was TJ Maxx. I needed some notecards, and they usually have some super cute ones. I love sending handwritten notes, so I like keeping them on hand. Anywho, while I was there, I kept saying "Oh, that is so cute!" Outloud. To myself. Does anyone else talk to themselves like that when shopping? Just me? Ok.

They had soooo much cute stuff there. It really is a shame that I'm not a decorator, because I would have bought up everything they had. I decided to take some shots and share my love for the most random things TJ Maxx had to offer. I use my crappy iphone camera, so the pictures aren't the best. Just needed to let you know I'm aware of this.

I just love arm chairs.
How cute would these be in a lake or beach house? I need to share these with my mom.
Sweet little birds
Adorable measuring cups: colorful ones, cow ones, and fish cups. Also ice-cream scoop spoons.
Pretty blue egg holder. Perfect for jewelry or to just set out on display.
I love anything animal print, so obviously this was my favorite.
How awesome is this basket? Wouldn't it be perfect for laundry or to hold blankets in the living room?
I've always been a fan of owls, so this would be perfect on my back deck holding some bright flowers.
My favorite: Humpty Dumpty book end. Love it.
It really is a shame that I'm not loaded and don't have tons of space. Otherwise, these would all have been mine.

I did walk away from there with some Flojo flip-flops. I have never heard of this brand, but they are super comfy and apparently retail for $40. I got them for $15. I also got a book for my niece and a rooster windchime for my Nanny's birthday Saturday. I found some puzzles for my client, but I passed on them. I think I'll go back tomorrow to pick those up...

...And maybe do some more window shopping. You never know what they will put out next.

5 Random Tidbits of Info

This post was originally titled 10 things that may shock you. But I couldn't come up with 10 things, and the few that I did come up with didn't seem very shocking. So now, I have a list of 5 things that are totally random, but about me.

1. I don't like beer. Or a lot of liquors. Or most wines. In fact, I've only had 1 wine that I actually liked. I'm quite picky.

2. I don't think it's cool to talk about being drunk or drinking all of the time. Many bloggers have "branded" themselves that way. If that's your schtick, then roll with it, but it's not me.

3. I'm over the bubble necklace trend. I have three, and have only worn two of them a few times. I love the big necklaces, but over the bubbles.

4. I'm so nosey. I will dig around on facebook like it's my job to find out a piece of information just to know. I like knowing where people live, what they drive, and all kinds of random, weird, useless stuff. And now I sound like a total creep.

5. I've been to college for 6.5 years, have 2 degrees, a teaching certification, several different types of jobs under my belt, and I still don't know what I want to do when I grow up. I feel like I'm 19 in my head, but I'm several years past that.

So that's it. Nothing too shocking, right?

Random Wednesday

Remember that cartoon or skit that says "Random Maaaaaaannnnnn?" No? No one? I know I'm not making that up, but can't for the life of me think of what it is from. Hmm.

Anywho- this link up is absolutely perfect for me because I'm all over the place. Don't pretend you haven't noticed. I also like this link-up because I genuinely like the host- Shanna. She always responds to even the simplest comments and tweets, and for that I love her. You all know how I am about big bloggers and comments.

A car pulled out in front of me yesterday and stopped in the middle of the road. Well I did what any self-respecting driver would do, I laid on my horn and yelled obsenities. Then he had the nerve to stick his nasty arm out of his piece of shit car and flip me off. Really? I should have rammed him, but didn't want to hurt my Toyota or subject it to a disease it was surely to catch just from being in contact with his car's nastiness. The nerve of the skanky druggie. Flip me off when you don't know the rules of the road. Psh.
This may or may not be just like me.

I have a headache most every morning when I wake up. I don't take any medications before bed or anything, so I'm not sure what the culprit is. Stress? Waking up several times a night to take Mia out? Other ideas?
Via
Stephanie talked about this on her blog one day. I needed some new foundations that actually lasted through the day, so I tried it.
Via
Y'all. This stuff works. When I take my makeup off at night, tons comes off, which means it didn't rub off during the day. Hallelujah. I found a winner!

I went to Chickfila yesterday since I was in the BG. I asked for the specific number of Chickfila sauces that I needed. I got my food,  pulled away, checked the bag, and the heifer only gave me half of the sauces I needed. It was a travesty. Some of my chickies didn't get sauce. It's just not the same without the sauce.
Via
I saved the best for last. Have you all heard this yet?

It's, in a word, awesome! I'm ashamed to admit it's the only song I listened to on my half hour drive to therapy yesterday. So good though. Really, take my word for it and download it asap.

I didn't have much going on Saturday, so I lounged a bit in front of the tv. I was watching something on E!, it ended, and Giuliana and Bill came on. I've never seen an episode and wasn't really sure about it since I'm not sure how I feel about Miss Giuliana. But, I loved it. They both seem so fun. So, of course, I tweeted about watching the show, and look what happened.
How sweet, right? I can add this to my list of reality tv star replies! Whoop whoop!
I guess that's enough randomness for today. Sayonara suckers!

Brown Sugar Meatloaf

I'm a meatloaf fan, but unfortunately, I've never made it. I don't even know how to attempt to put it together.

Then a former teacher shared a recipe on facebook, and it sounded easy enough, so I tried it. I was a little lot scared. And when I took it out of the oven, I may have scrunched up my nose, because it looked a little funny. But I took a bite, and I think the world stopped spinning. It was good, you guys. Really good.

I wish I could take the credit for it, but I can't. I give all the props to Southern Mama- whoever she is. I don't have a link; like I said, it was just shared on fb, but here is the recipe:

Brown Sugar Meatloaf ~~Southern Mama~~

 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup ketchup
1 1/2 pounds lean ground beef
3/4 cup milk
2 eggs
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 small onion, chopped
1/4 teaspoon ground ginger--I didn't have this, so I just left it out.
3/4 cup finely crushed saltine cracker crumbs

Directions:
 1.Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease a 5x9 inch loaf pan.
2.Press the brown sugar in the bottom of the prepared loaf pan and spread the ketchup over the sugar.
3.In a mixing bowl, mix thoroughly all remaining ingredients and shape into a loaf. Place on top of the ketchup.
4.Bake in preheated oven for 1 hour or until juices are clear.

What Oprah Says About Men

This has been floating around Facebook the past few days, and I thought I needed to share it, if nothing else, as a reminder to myself! I'm not sure if Oprah really said this, and I couldn't find a real source, but what it says is so true, whether it came from Oprah or not.

HEAR WHAT OPRAH WINFREY HAD TO SAY ABOUT MEN :
If a man wants you, nothing can keep him away.
If he doesn't want you, nothing can make him stay. Stop making excuses for a man and his behavior. Allow your intuition (or spirit) to save you from heartache.

Stop trying to change yourself for a relationship that's not meant to be. Slower is better. Never live your life for a man before you find what makes you truly happy. If a relationship ends because the man was not treating you as you deserve then heck no, you can't "be friends". A friend wouldn't mistreat a friend.
...
Don't settle. If you feel like he is stringing you along, then he probably is. Don't stay because you think "it will get better." You'll be mad at yourself a year later for staying when things are not better. The only person you can control in a relationship is you. Avoid men who have a bunch of children by a bunch of different women. He didn't marry them when he got them pregnant, why would he treat you any differently? Always have your own set of friends separate from his. Maintain boundaries in how a guy treats you. If something bothers you, speak up. Never let a man know everything. He will use it against you later.
...
You cannot change a man's behavior. Change comes from within. Don't EVER make him feel he is more important than you are. Even if he has has more education or in a better job. Do not make him into a quasi-god. He is a man, nothing more nothing less.
Never let a man define who you are. Never borrow someone else's man. If he cheated with you, he'll cheat on you. A man will only treat you the way you ALLOW him to treat you. All men are NOT dogs.
...
You should not be the one doing all the bending... Compromise is two way street. You need time to heal between relationships. There is nothing cute about baggage... Deal with your issues before pursuing a new
relationship. You should never look for someone to COMPLETE you. A relationship consists of two WHOLE  individuals. Look for someone complimentary...  not supplementary.

...
Dating is fun... Even if he doesn't turn out to be Mr. Right. Make him miss you sometimes... When a man always know where you are, and you're always readily available to him ~ he takes it for granted. Never move into his mother's house. Never co-sign for a man. Don't fully commit to a man who doesn't give you everything that you need. Keep him in your radar but get to know others.
...
Scared of being alone is what makes a lot of women stay in relationships that are abusive or hurtful: Dr. Phil says... You should know that: You're the best thing that could ever happen to anyone and if a man mistreats you, he'll miss out on a good thing. If he was attracted to you in the 1st place, just know that he's not the only one. They're all watching you, so you have a lot of choices. Make the right one. Ladies take care of your own hearts...

Whether you are in a relationship or not, I think everyone can take a little something from this. I sure did.

Happy Monday, friends.
