Casting for Gone Girl

Sometimes when I'm reading a book, I place faces with the characters as I read...kind of like choosing the actor that will portray the character if the book were to become a movie.

I was tweeting with Jordan (from Musings of a Twenty Something) about the book, Gone Girl, and we chose some actors, just in case Hollywood wants our opinion.

Here are my picks.

Amy
Charlize Theron, Diane Kruger, and Naomi Watts- I think all of these would be great choices for Amy, but I really think Charlize Theron could pull of the heartbroken wife that turns out to be ten kinds of crazy.

Nick

James Marsden, Ryan Reynolds, Chris Evans, and Chris Pine- all of these guys could look like the guy whose wife went missing, but then was killed, but then reappeared. My top pick would be James Marsden though.

Go (Nick's twin sister)

Michelle Monaghan- This girl is Nick's twin sister, so they need to have similar features (which I think she does with Marsden), but also needs to be portrayed as the girl that looks like she'd own a bar. I think she could pull it off.

Andie (Nick's girlfriend)

Andie is young and quite naive, so I think Blake Lively could definitely play that part.

What do you think of my list? Who would you choose to play the characters in Gone Girl?

Random Wednesday

I'm glad Shanna has Random Wednesday going on today, because that is just how  I'm feeling. I'm sure that's no surprise to anyone that really knows me.

1. Remember those songs I listed yesterday? I've been listening to them non-stop, especially Christina Aguilera and Blake Shelton's song "Just a Fool". We've all been there, right?

2. Remember that bracelet I'm giving away? You have 2 days left to enter. I'll choose a winner on Friday, so get to it. It's cute. Promise. Enter here.

3. This.
Believe me, I'm hard enough on myself; I don't need you pointing out what I'm doing wrong or not up to your liking. K?

4. I had a slight meltdown last night. This is going to be one of those vague mentions that everyone hates, but I'm just not ready to talk about it. It was ugly though. However, I think that it was so draining that I slept wonderfully last night. My little Mia even slept through the night, which never happens. Maybe she knew I was upset.

5. Sometimes my calendar knows me so well. I've blogged/tweeted about it plenty, so you should know by now that I love the daily reminders.
I'm predicing this will be appropriate next week, if you get my drift.
5. Can we all just agree to retire the "bloggy terms" of 2012? I hate hearing YOLO, and totes, and amazeballs, and all of those other abbreviated words. Call me Miss Moody if you must.

6. Let's hear it for the UK Wildcats beating Ole Miss last night. Noel had a school record breaking 12 blocks last night, 4 of which came after earning himself 4 fouls. Poythress showed up and had a heck of a 2nd half. And Wiltjer? He's come so far this season. Go Cats!

That's it for my hump day post. If you're feeling random like me, link up with Shanna. She's awesome.

Songs on Repeat

Ever so often, I'll get on a kick and search for new music to download. More times than not, I'm listening to my iPod in the car instead of the radio, and when I play songs on repeat, they usually get old after awhile.

Well on this recent search, I have found so many good songs. A lot of them have similar sounds, which is probably why I love them so much.

So for your listening entertainment, here they are. Enjoy.

Gavin Degraw- "Soldier"
Samantha introduced me to this song only this morning on Twitter, but I already love it.

Lupe Fiasco & Guy Sebastian- "Battle Scars"

Imagine Dragons- "Demons" I also like "Radioactive" and "It's Time" by them.

Christina Aguilera with Blake Shelton- "Just a Fool"

What songs are you listening to these days?

SAG Awards Red Carpet: Best Dressed

It is always so hard for me to choose a best dressed, because there are always so many dresses that look phenomenal. Here are a few looks from last night's SAG Awards that I loved.

All photos were found at People.com.

Black
All of these women look great. I love the gold sparkle on Jenna Fischer. The belt on Tina Fey is great, and Amy Pohler looks awesome in her black dress.

Grey and White

Left: Julia Stiles- I absolutely love this dress. Love it. I think this is exactly what I would want to wear if I had a chance to walk the red carpet.

Middle: Naomi Watts- She looks stunning in this dress. I love the color and the beadwork. So pretty.

Right: Kerry Washington- This dress looks ok in this photo, but the  back was gorgeous. It had more detail and was just gorgeous.

Navy

I love Busy Phillips and Amanda Seyfried in these long blue dresses with long necklaces.

Color

Arent these colors just great on these three ladies. I love red anyway, and this blue lace on Mayim Baliek(sp?) is so pretty.

Best Dressed of the Night
And Melanie's award for best dressed of the night goes to.......Amanda Seyfried.

This color is so good with her skin tone, and I just love the necklace that she chose. Instead of choosing something shorter and chunkier, she went with the long necklace and it's perfect.

Who was your best dressed from last night?

SAG Awards Red Carpet: Worst Dressed

As I've said before, I'm certainly no fashionista, but I do have a pretty strong opinion when it comes to knowing what I like and what I don't like. And last night while watching the SAG Awards was no different.

Here are the ladies on my worst dressed list. All photos were found at People.com.

Black and White

Left: January Jones- The hair. The makeup. The weird white overlay and neckline. All of it. Just no.

Right: Julianna Marguelies- I don't even know where to begin on this one. The white is horrible. The little string bow is awful. The cut is terrible. The shoes are hideous. I can't believe this was even made my anyone, much less worn by a star on the red carpet.

Color
Left: Gabby Douglas- This looks like a cocktail dress from the 80s. Her dress from last week's Golden Globes was so much better.

Middle: Freida Pinto- This dress is such a pretty color and would look gorgeous on someone much older, but I think she is much too young to wear something with this cut.

Right: Nancy O'Dell- Was this leftover from the Miss America pageant in Vegas? The color is very pretty, but the placed sparkle and cut is too much.

Worst Dressed of the Night
And my #1 Worst Dressed at last night's awards is.....January Jones.

I feel like she went out on a limb, the limb snapped, and girl fell on her face.

Who was your worst dressed pick?

Day 22: Corner
One of the only corners in my house with something in it.
Day 23: Electric
Electric fireplace, tv, cable box, and dvd player.
Day 24: Stripes
Stripes from my chevron blanket.
Day 25: Landscape
This was the landscaping when I moved in my apartment last fall. And that is not just water, friends. That's frozen water. Slicker than snot, is what we say around here.

SPD: Old Candle to Decoration

Every Thursday, I feel like it's a requirement to link up with Stephanie and Katie for the Saw it. Pinned it. Did it.

So even though I couldn't find the materials for what I had planned to do, I realized I already had done something I could share.

I found this project on Pinterest, of course.

When my Bath and Body Works candle got down to where it wouldn't burn, instead of throwing it out, I had a plan.

With the lid off, put the candle in the freezer for about 10 minutes. Then use a butter knife or whatever will work to get the wax out of the jar. Don't throw the wax away though; if you have a Scentsy or similar warmer, break up the wax (throw away the wicks), and use in your warmer.

Then take the stickers off of the jar. Put the jar (without the lid) in the dishwasher to remove old wax residue. You'll then have a clean jar that actually looks like you bought it in the decor section of a store.

I couldn't decide what I wanted to do with it, so for the time being, it's in my bathroom holding some cotton balls.

 Easy as pie, right?

What would you put in the jar?

What I'm Loving

I really like listing some things I'm loving on Wednesdays. It reminds me that even if I'm worrying about something or having negative thoughts, there are lots of things that I'm happy about.

For instance, I'm loving my new Uggs. The gray ones I bought stretched out and became way too big. Zappos awesome customer service gave me a refund on them. I wasn't sure if I wanted to reorder the gray or go with a different color. Well this weekend, I just happened to walk by the shoe department at Dillards this weekend, and the girl that always helps me let me know that these boots were on sale. For $60 bucks off. Well, I heard that and my decision was made. Bye bye gray, Hello brown bomber.
I wore them yesterday and absolutely love them. LOVE THEM!
I'm loving Zappos. I'm getting nothing for saying that, but I just feel like you all need to know how awesome they are. Free shipping. And every time I order, the shoes are on my doorstep either the next day or 2 days later. And the returns are SO easy to do. You print off your shipping tag, take it to a shipping store, and boom. You're done. The refund is usually back to you within a week. I can't say enough great things about this company.
I'm loving my new Vera Bradley wristlet. There are spaces for my cards and id. There is a zipper compartment for coins or cash. And tons of room for my phone, keys, and lip gloss. I seriously love it.
I'm loving this post by Samantha. I absolutely love everything she said. So true, right? I've been following this girl on twitter for awhile, but just now started following her blog (I don't know how that happened. I thought I was this whole time.) She's awesome, and you can follow her blog here or twitter here.

What are you loving this week?

The Facts Of Me

So my Top 2 Tuesday has only been live for a few hours, but I've had no one link up. #fail It makes me a tad sad. Since no one found it interesting, I guess I'll move on while crying inside. Waaaaah. (That was totally said in a Snookie whiney voice btw.)

Whitney has this super successful one time linkup called the facts of me. And since some of you may be new and not know me, I thought I would try this and link up with the heifer. (Btw- someone said I was rude yesterday for calling someone a heifer. Let me just say that it may seem that way, but I honestly call everyone that. It's like hooker, or bish, or whatever other word you use to call your friends a playful bad name. Just an fyi.)

Back to the topic at hand. Some facts about me. What can I say about myself....?

Fact- I have super curly hair. And it bothers me when people talk about their natural curly hair being so horrible when it clearly is just wavy. Or when you google curly hair, and there are pictures of perfect beach waves. Try having these tight curls, girl. I promise you will love your wavy hair more.

This picture came up when I googled curly hair. That is not curly! Those are a few light waves.
This is curly!
See that hair? That is not a perm, my friends. All me.
Fact- Im obsessed with Andy's Cheddar Fries. My  Nanny would buy these all the time, so when I found them at Walmart a few months back, I felt like I was a kid again. It really is embarrassing how much I love these. And how many I can eat in one sitting.

Fact- I'm convinced I could win American Idol. Only one problem. I can't sing well. But that little fact wouldn't be held against me, right? I may not be gracing the stage in front of thousands any time soon, but if you happen to be in my car, prepare yourself. You will be attending the best concert of your life.

Fact- I'm not an animal person, but have a dog. I've always been afraid of  big dogs; I think cats are gross, and other people's dogs sometimes gross me out. I don't know why I think animals are just dirty, but I do. So when I told my parents I wanted a yorkie (or a maltese), they were shocked, but bought me one. She's 2.5 pounds of sweetness. My mom says she's like a rat on cocaine. I love her though.

Fact- I'm super insecure. I probably shouldn't admit that, but it's true and this is supposed to be facts about me, right? I pretend to be confident and not care because that's what everyone says you should do, but I worry about everything. Is my hair too frizzy? Do I look extra round today? Why did she unfollow me? Did I say the wrong thing? And instead of worrying about it a second and moving on, I worry non-stop until it's time to worry about something else.

Fact- I love The Daily Bitch. It's my new 2013 calendar and it makes me laugh every single day. Some might find it offensive, but I love it. For example, today's line is "Trust me, I've been called worse things than a bitch." My friends may receive pictures of these every morning. Sorry bout that. But it fits me perfectly- snarky, sarcastic, and dare I say it....bitchy? Lol.

Fact- I have 2 degrees. English (secondary ed) and School Counseling. I may never use my teaching degree again. Truth. I miss it sometimes, but more times than not I think about how miserable the last two years of teaching was at a certain district, and I think never again! My ultimate goal would be to do therapy or counseling full time.

Fact- I love UK basketball. Every season I get attached to the players. And I admit, I pick out one or two players to obsess about, drool over, cheer on. I watch every game. I get upset when they lose. I can't help it.

Fact- I hate getting my face wet.  I do. It's weird. I hate for rain to touch it, and in the shower? I just can't. I hardly ever wash my face in the shower. I always wait until I'm out and then wash it with a towelette or something.

Fact- I love giving stuff away. I'm even giving away a bracelet at the end of this month. You should enter. Go here to do so.

Fact- I'm totally random. I was just reading over this, and realized there's no rhyme or reason to any of the facts, except that they are true. Random. And that I am.

If you are sharing your facts, link up with Whitney, and then let me know! :)
