Banana Pepper Beef Roast Sandwiches

I was with some friends on a houseboat during Memorial Day weekend, when a boat neighbor brought over a crockpot full of goodness. The smell was amazing, and I couldn't wait to see what was inside. The lid came off, and the gang immediately surrounded the island countertop with our eyes and noses glued to the crockpot. I got a peek and saw banana peppers.

But the smell was wonderful, so I decided to pick around the peppers and try to meat, which was beef roast. The neighbor had brought over the other necessary ingredients, so I started assembling my sandwich. Fortunately for me, a stray banana pepper had hidden beneath the meat. Fortunately because the taste was surprisingly yummy. I had never ever liked any kind of peppers, but this was so good.

Since that weekend, I  have been wanting to copy this recipe, and finally did last night. It was so good, and I had several comments asking about it on Twitter, so I thought I'd share.

The best thing about this recipe is that it is only 4 ingredients and super easy to make. I mean really, I wouldn't attempt it if the ingredients list was forever long or if it seemed complicated.

beef roast
jar of banana pepper rings
provolone cheese
hoagie buns

1. Put roast in crock pot. Cover with water. Season with salt and pepper. Cook on low for about 8 hours.
2. Remove roast and shred with a fork. Drain most of the water/juice from the crockpot. Leave some (about a cup or 2) in crockpot (to keep meat moist). Put shredded roast back in crock pot.

3. Drain juice off of banana pepper rings. Put whole jar into crock pot with beef.

4. With crockpot still on low, let sit and "mari" for another 30-60 minutes.
5. Assemble sandwich and enjoy!

Isn't that easy peasy? If you try this, please let me know how you like it!

Pinterest: Fall Fashions

Happy  hump day, ladies! I'm so so glad we are that much closer to a 3 day weekend. Can I get an amen? My sanity needs that extra day. For real.

I'm feeling blank today; maybe it's from the lack of sleep that I endured last night. That and the fact that I was up at 2am sick. Ugh. Luckily, I feel better, but am suffering from tiredness. Naptime. Please come quick!

Since I'm feeling so void of thoughts today, I'm skipping my usual So What Wednesday with Shannon (sorry, boo), and linking up with the lovely Vintage Apple for Oh, How Pinteresting.

With Labor Day seriously just right around the corner, I'm feeling very fallish. Fall is my favorite season. Give me a chill in the air, some football, apple cider, sweatshirts...I'm in heaven. So I'm sharing some of my favorite looks from fall that I've found on Pinterest. Let me know what you think!

Everyone needs monograms. Everyone.

If you know me, you know I love a good cardigan. My closet is full of cardis. I live in them. So these next few pins are perfect for me.

And some shoes I'm needing. Not wanting. Needing.
Aren't these gorg???

I need some fringe in my life.

And Sperrys? In leopard? With sequins? This has my name written all over it.

And because it's Wednesday...
If you don't know what this is from, we can't be friends. End of story.

Happy Wednesday, ladies!

Old Navy Finds & Giveaway

Doing my first ever Friday Favorites link up with the Bargain Blonde herself. Btw- she has some amazing news on her blog today, and I, for one, am super jealous! Congrats, girl!

I decided that after my session yesterday afternoon, I would hit up Old Navy since I'd just received a coupon in my email inbox. The ever so popular polka dot sweater has been on my mind, and even though I knew it probably wouldn't work on me, I had to try it. And jeans were on sale, so it was like a sign from the shopping gods that I needed to venture in. Yes, I've seen the post about how they make your butt look, but they fit. Do you know how hard it is to find jeans that actually fit? And most of my tops cover my butt, so oh well.

Anywho- I go in and my arms start pulling items off of the racks to try on. While some things didn't work, a few things did. Let me note, that I never ever buy items that aren't on sale. I just can't do it. But I did have that coupon, remember? So here is what I ended up with.
Paisley chiffon top, Rock Star boot cut jeans, Polka dot sweater
The tops were not on sale, but I felt okay knowing I had a coupon and would wear them a lot. The jeans fit so well that I bought two pair. Do you all do that? I only really wear two pair now (both from ON, and both the exact same). You all know how hard it is to find jeans. I actually HeyTelled my sister on the way home so she could make me feel not so guilty about buying them. I will wear them a lot, needed them and at $29 bucks each (coupon excluded jeans, but they were on sale), she said it was a needed purchase.
While I was there (and perusing the site before I went), I saw plenty of other items I think I need this fall. Want to see?
Pinks, corals, and reds are my color.
 1. While I don't need another scarf, this one is so cute.
2. Same style as the top I bought, but different color.
 3. And I could really use every single color that is offered in those layering tanks.

1. I love cardigans, and I wear them all the time. This open front cardigan is perfect.
2. Button down shirts look terrible on me, but I love this look.
3. More dots, grey, and short sleeve. I die.
4. Animal print? I'm in.

Animal print accessories
1. I don't like ON shoes, but these are adorable. I need to try them on asap.
2. I haven't bought a bag from ON since high school, but what a fun add-on to an outfit.
3. Sleep pants in cheetah? OK!
4. I've been looking for a leopard scarf like this for ages. This one is infinity, and that's ok with me!
Have you been to Old Navy lately? What do you think of my purchases and wish list?

Don't forget I have this going on. Open until Monday night!

So What & Pins

It's hump day, and you know what that means........ No! Get your minds out of the gutters. That is not what I was referring to, ya pervs. I meant that it is Wednesday, and time for So What link up with my awesome bloggy friend Shannon at Life After I Dew.

and The Vintage Apple for Oh How Pinteresting.

So what if....

...everytime I think of hump day, I think of sex. It's true. I have the mind of a 15 year old boy.
Source: via Dakota on Pinterest uterus is shedding, and I'm a little ill about it. I got no sleep last night, woke up with my body aching and my stomach cramping like I don't know what, and the roller coaster of bitchiness has taken off.

...most of this post is TMI. Sorry, heifers.

...I wanted to send this post by Kristen to everyone I know. Remember that not everything needs to be said...even if you are thinking it. It's not nice to hurt people's feelings, especially people you call friends. And sometimes saying nothing is better than putting someone down.

...sometimes I just want to stay in my pjs and in bed all day watching One Tree Hill. I think the people around me would agree that today would be a good day for that.
Hope you all have a great hump day!

BTW- Don't forget about this giveaway going on. YOU could win!

Dear (blank)

Dear storms- You finally answered my wish. You arrived. Unfortunately, I was just beginning my 45 minute drive home. Yep. My car was shaken by the winds and I couldn't see to drive through the rain. Your timing sucks.
Dear health- Do you realize how hard it is for me to be healthy? All of the yummy foods that I crave are bad. Have I mentioned that I hate to sweat, so exercise has no appeal to me. We are going to work on this.

Dear Target- Thank you for finally putting these shoes on clearance. While they weren't as low as I'd have liked, I can't pass up a red sticker. Or anything with glitter. And I have them on my feet this morning. Definitely worth it!

Dear readers- I picked up a little something for you last weekend during my shopping excursion. Stay tuned!

Dear weekend- Do you have any idea how excited I am to see you? I really can't wait. I have big plans for you, and I intend to enjoy them.

Have a great weekend, lovelies! :)

About Me Page

I honestly think this is the toughest part to complete on a blog: the About Me page. What do I write that people want to know? After writing and deleting, writing and deleting, over and over again, I finally came up with something and hit publish. I'm still not sure  how it sounds or comes off, but there it is. If you have an extra minute, check it out at the top of my page. And of course, tell me what you think! :)

Have an awesome day, glitter puffs. (Thanks, @fabulousbutevil for my new favorite word!)

So What Wednesday

So what if...

I called the guys I work with assholes Monday afternoon and walked out of the office. They were being total jerks, and I was over it.

I looked at a house Friday afternoon, and I fell in love. Seriously, y'all, it has Melanie written all over it. Lots of things have to fall into place, but I can keep my fingers crossed, right?

I absolutely hate people that use people. It's funny that once you have something fun or that benefits them, everyone wants to be part of the family or jump on board. Fall off the face of the Earth, jerkfaces.

you disagree with what I'm doing or feeling or whatever. It's  not like I agree with everything you've done or said.

I fell asleep last night before 10. I was trying so hard to watch PLL, and I just couldn't do it. Can I also say that I slept amazingly!? First time in a long time. I certainly cringed this morning when the alarm went off, but I feel well-rested. Finally.

Happy Hump Day, love muffins. Have a good one!

Happy Tuesday, Ladies.

Not to be all mopey, and negative, and whiney, but I've been down about some things lately, and it's really gotten the best of me. I'm struggling. And honestly, this post with these prints and words are more for my benefit. If you get something out of them too, then awesome! And if you could send happy thoughts my way, I'd really appreciate it.
