Just look at what I found on my porch today at lunch!

I've been wanting these shoes since they came out, but hate paying so much for something I may/may not wear often. So glad I broke down and bought them. They are even cuter in person!

I've owned 2 pairs, an olive green that hurt my feet (I was in between sizes and had gone down....big no no!), and a black pair that I ended up returning because I was so unsure. I'm loving these doubt!

What do you think? Do you own any Toms?

Here we go again, ladies!

I confess that I think I'm going through pre-menopausal hot flashes. I'm in my late 20's, and sometimes get so hot, I can't even think! I do therapy in a small observation room, about the size of a walk in closet, with now air. It's miserable! Today, I think I sweated of about 5 lbs, my face was bright red, my shirt and bra were wet....I mean this is not normal!!!

I confess that I watched the Republican National Debate last night, the 2nd time I've watched, and STILL have no clue who I am going to vote for. How in the world do you decide???

I confess I bought The Lincoln Lawyer last night for only $15 bucks. Whoop!!! Love that movie!

I confess I bought a Halloween costume last night too. I'm not sure I love it, but it was only $20 (I don't like paying a lot when you only wear it once!) What do you think? What are you going to dress up as?

What are you guys confessing today? Please share!

Have an awesome Friday. Peace & Blessings. :)

Catch up!

Hey, guys! I feel like I haven't written an actual post in quite some time! Ya ready?

--> The new job is going pretty well. There is a lot to learn, but so far, I think I'm doing okay. I'm in the process of becoming a behavior support specialist for a govt. program to provide services to children on medicaid. I'm only actually working part time at the moment, and the time I'm not there, is either spent driving or preparing for it. So actually, I feel like I'm spending more money than I'm making with it. Everyone I speak to says that I should just use this as a stepping stone, and to remember this rough beginning will lead to bigger and better things.

Thanks so much to those of you that prayed and sent kind words. It is SO encouraging to read those messages after a rough day at work!

--> Our town's Arts and Crafts Fair on the Square is this Saturday and I am SO very excited! Last year I found all kinds of fall decor and gift ideas. I love home-made primitive-like holiday decor and it is overflowing. This event really starts my fall decorating and feeling. I can't wait!!

-->This Saturday is also the bachelorette party for a friend of mine. I'm a bridesmaid in her wedding, but to be honest, I dread all of it. (Maybe I'll share this story later?) This should be a happy time, but it's been nothing but chaos and one-sided friendships. However, I'm determined to make Saturday fun!!!

-->I had my carpets cleaned Tuesday morning and they look brand new! I'm so very pleased with how they turned out! The living room, dining room, hall, and my bedroom were a hot mess courtesy of my precious little Mia. How does a 2 lb. dog make such a mess? Good question. My only thought is that her bladder must be the size of a pea, and her tiny stomach can't handle a lot of food when she binges.

To keep them from becoming the same nasty mess, I've got her in the bathroom. I've taken  up all of the rugs, put down a pee pad (which she uses half the time), put her bed, food, water, and toys in there for her to be comfy. I don't like this set-up. I mean one can't even use that restroom with all of her stuff in there....but she just can't be left out. How do you house your dog when you are gone? Some people have suggested I get a large pen and keep her in the basement....but I just think that's kind of cruel. What do you think? Please send your suggestions!

I don't want to bore you all anymore, so I'm going to end here. Please send some suggestions!

Monday Randomness

Good Monday morning, lovelies.
Today's post is full of on, if you will.
Miscellany Monday @
lowercase letters

--I've been filling sick for a few days now. The past few months, I have trouble keeping food down. I stay nauseous, it seems. (NO, not pregnant!) I get headaches a lot. And the past few nights, I wake up with my clothes drenched in sweat. It's so weird!

--I watched the Emmy's last night. Modern Family took in 5 awards! Have you all seen this show? I'm a new watcher (which have all been reruns), but it is hilarious! I can't wait for the new season to begin!

--If you watch, you know this kid!

It's Rico Rodriguez and he plays Manny on the show. Is he not the cutest thing you've ever seen? I remember him being on Regis and Kelly one morning awhile back, and he is so smart and SO charming! I just want to squeeze him. Can I have him??

--Bridesmaids comes out tomorrow. It's on sale at Target, and guess who will  be there after work to purchase it? This girl! I can't wait. Did you guys see it? HILARIOUS! "Is your name Stove? Who has a name like Stove?" "Get off the carpet!"....I'm rolling right now.

--Back to the Emmys. Did you see when they gave away the award for Actress in a Comdey Series? The ladies ran to the stage like it was a pageant. The gal who won, Melissa McCarthy, who was also super funny in Bridesmaids, won. Along with her Emmy, she got a crown and some roses. Quite funny!

--So, emotional, PMSing Melanie....cried during the freaking Emmy speeches. WHO DOES THAT???? I was getting misty eyed after the first few speeches....I need a chill pill or something.

I guess that's all for today, lovelies! Hope you have a fantastic Monday!

I don't know how she does it.

I was sitting at home in some comfy shorts and a tee after some cleaning yesterday when I saw I had a missed call from the mother. I called back and she asked if I wanted to meet them at the movies. They were seeing I Don't Know How She Does It and it started in 15 minutes. I scrambled to throw on some jeans and a top, thanking myself for doing my hair and makeup earlier today.

I got to the movies with some time to spare, woo-hoo for living in town, and they were at the counter ordering some popcorn and drinks. I'd already requested a Sprite, but I got there just in time to throw in a hot dog. Movie popcorn makes me sick, and I hadn't had lunch, so a hot doggie it was.

photo via
We walked into the theater and it was....empty! Wha? I mean this is the opening weekend of a chick-flick. How could it be empty? A few more groups came in before the lights went out to begin the movie, but still....a poor showing for an opening weekend movie.

It begins with Christina Hendricks' character addressing Sarah Jessica Parker's character....about being a busy mom, having a successful career that keeps her away a lot, a husband that supports her even if he doesn't like the fact that she's gone all of the time. You know the rest....she's competing with men at work, other moms who seem to have it together at her child's school, the mother-in-law that criticizes her having a career, missing little/big things in her kids' lives. You see this every day, in real life, on tv, in movies. Ho hum.

I suppose you have to be a busy mom to understand the movie. Correction- a busy mom to enjoy the movie. I'm not a mom. And folks, I didn't really enjoy the movie. It was a slow storyline, no climax to the plot, no jaw-dropping scenes...nothing. I mean I didn't hate it, but I certainly won't be buying it when it comes out on DVD. It was mediocre at best.

So, ladies, if you want to spend $10 dollars on a movie ticket, $10 bucks on some popcorn and a drink, and sit in a cold theater for 2 hours watching a boring movie, then this is the one to pick. However, I'd recommend you to at least wait until you can get it at Redbox for a buck and save yourself some money.

I confess

I confess...
I'm exhausted this week. This new job is trying....I'm mentally drained! I'm also driving tons more daily than I have in 2 years. I'm waking up earlier, getting home later, and rushing every single day. That's the physically draining part.

I confess...
That with this new job, I have to get a bunch of stuff done before actually becoming an "employee." Boooo.

I confess...
that money is not everything people. Being greedy and money hungry is not a good way to be. (Yes, I love money....having it, getting it, whatever just as much as the next person,  but some people go overboard.) Just remember that.

I confess...
that I totally believe in karma. If you try to screw people, it will come back to you, one way or another.

I confess...
selfish people suck. I mean, yes, sometimes we need to vent, but remember to ask about someone else for a change.

I confess...
that I'm totally and completely excited to get my carpets cleaned next week. They are seriously gross (thanks to my 2 pound carpet stainer, Mia). I'm ashamed of them. I hope Mr. Stanley Steemer can work some magic!

I confess...
this weather makes me so stinkin happy! I even pulled out the socks, scarf, and jacket today! WOOHOO for fall weather!

See How Cool You Are Then

On my way to my session yesterday afternoon, I stopped by the university bookstore. Sidenote: I LOVE the bookstore. I could browse that store all day long. I want to buy every single item in there.....ahhhh.

Anywho- as I made my way to the bookstore upstairs, I had to go through the main campus hub, DUC. It's the place where the students eat, hang out, do homework, sleep on couches, etc. The place was, as usual, full. Full of turned up noses, cocky, rude, college students. I wanted to punch them. Most of them walked around like they were the god/goddess of WKU. Really?  What makes college students think they are so superior to the outside world?

I wanted to scream, "What's with the attitude?" Maybe it's because they are away from home for the first time ever. Maybe it's because they can drink alcohol now.....Ooooh, go you! Maybe it's because their parents pay for the over-priced name brand stuff....whatever it is....lose the attitude, kids! I wasn't sure if I should be sickened by the snotty behavior or just laugh.

Just wait until you are out in the real world, 20,000+ dollars in debt, in a crummy entry-level job (if you are lucky to get a job).....see how cool you are then, asshole!

Dang you, McDonalds!

Last night before bed, my stomach was growling in a fit of hunger. I ate some carrots (with ranch, of course), and soon headed to sleep. The carrots must not have helped  because this morning, I woke up to an even louder growl. Since I keep nothing quick and handy in the house, I headed to McDonalds.

Like usual, the line was wrapped around the building. I whipped it into a spot, went inside, and watched people cut and hang all over each other. Not what I wanted to endure at such an early hour. Nastiness is what it was.

So when I finally get to the counter, I order my go-to, a #3: bacon, egg, and cheese biscuit with orange juice to drink. I wait around and finally hear the order and see them place the bag down. The man's words were kind of jumbled, so I asked the cashier if it was the bacon, egg, and cheese. She huffily repeated my order to me (as if I didn't know what I ordered).

I took the bag, got in the car, came to work, talked a little bit, and finally got my Mickey Dee's bag out. Lo and behold, it was WRONG! Some d-bag had ordered a steak, egg, and cheese bagel and guess what was in my bag? A nasty, gross, smelly steak, egg, and cheese bagel.....with onions. Gag me with a spoon.

So dang you, McDonalds, for giving me the wrong order, making me waste $5 bucks, and me having to eat saltine crackers for breakfast. It's only  been 10 minutes, and my stomach is still hungry. Dang you!

New Job Jitters

Hey, lovelies! I have SO much going on, and I feel like I'm drowning!

--I had a post scheduled for yesterday morning, get home last night, check out blogger, and it did not post. Grrr. Why, blogger, why?????? When I posted it, it said "scheduled." You do this to me every. single. time.

-- As you've gathered, I'm starting a new job this week. It's something completely new, there is so much "stuff",  and I'm overwhelmed! I seriously wanted to cry yesterday.

-- I had to visit the clinic yesterday, which is two hours away. I woke up 2 hours earlier than normal, left at 6:30 am, arrived at about 8:45 am, spent the whole day learning and trying things out, spent 2 hours on paperwork, and drove the 2+ hours home last night. I got back at 8:30, and my butt was dragging. I was SO tired....mentally and physically.

-- I went to sleep early last night, and I had the best night of sleep I've had in sooo long.

-- I officially have my first session this afternoon and am scared to death. I was feeling confident until my visit yesterday. I felt like a complete idiot. It's NOT as easy as it looks/sounds.

-- Thanks so much to those that have been commenting and prayering for me. I know they have helped!

-- Even though I'm so overwhelmed (and scared), I know this is a great opportunity. Even if I'm having doubts right now, I'm sure it's because everything is new and hectic. I just have to do my best, give it a few months to calm down, and then we'll see how it goes. I mean it's not like I have to do this forever if I hate it, right?

How do you handle new stuff stress? What can I do to get this under control?

Shh. These are confessions.

Confessions are the Friday norm around here thanks to an awesome linky by one of my favorite bloggers, Mama-Mamarazzi. (Did you catch the Lady Gaga reference? And why do I point that out? If I have to point it out, the reference failed....ah well.)

I confess....
I'm so dang glad it is Friday. I've had one heck of an emotionally draining week. Lot's of new things, me worrying much more than necessary, some relationships strained, but hello, weekend! I'm going to lazily enjoy every single minute of you!

I confess...
that I am beyond blessed. I know I mainly post worries or angry rants (this is my little place to release...), but when it all comes down to it, I have so much to be thankful for. I have amazing parents and a little sister that support me and are always there. I have the best friends (shoutout Whitney and Meg) who listen to me when I'm at my lowest, I have a roof over my head, food in my fridge, and a loving and forgiving God that I know won't let me suffer. With that, what really is there to worry about?

I confess...
I finished The Hunger Games and I am PISSED with the last book. What the eff, Suzanne Collins? How can you write amazing stuff for book one and two, and leave the third with the crap that it was. Am I the only one that feels this way? Overall, I loved the series, but way disappointed with the last one.

I confess...
another con to the Nook? Very few cheapies.... Yes, they have free ones. Yes, you can borrow from a friend (if they haven't already lent it out once before). BUT, I love buying used books for like a buck. I love trading and borrowing books with friends. And after spending $20 bucks last week (albeit for 3 books, but whatever), I can't afford to buy a Nook book every time I'm ready to read. Back to paperback for me for awhile.

I confess....
that while I created this blog for me, so I could write, vent, get things out, document my  life, it makes my day when I see a new follower or a new comment from a reader. I think I've made some bloggy friends, and I love that. Thank you to those faithful readers! I appreciate each and every one of you and your comments.

That's it, lovelies. Have an awesome weekend!

Hey....It's ok!

I'm linking up today with one of my favorite bloggers that I also stalk follow on twitter.
Its Ok Thursdays

It's ok that I've been so overwhelmed with life lately that I've neglected my little blog. With everything else going on, I just haven't been a faithful writer/reader lately.

It's ok that I'm scared to death about this new job. It's nothing I had thought about before, it's "risky," and I'm not even sure I will like it. But...I feel like I have to give it a shot.

It's ok that I feel the way I do about certain people. If they don't care to be a good friend to their "besties" then why should I continue to want to be friends with them?

It's ok to want to go straight home after work, put on comfies, and climb into bed with the remote or fall asleep. I have no other responsibilities (i.e. husband or kids), so I'm going to spend my time like I please.

What are you feeling OK about today?

Oh, how Pinteresting--Jewelry

Love pinterest. Love linkups. Love jewelry. So the thing to do is to link up with The Vintage Apple and show some of my favorite jewelry finds on Pinterest.

If you could see my jewelry armoire, you would see how much I love jewelry. Bright, bold necklaces, dainty sweet bracelets, large, fun earrings....I don't discriminate against jewelry! Here are some I wish I had in my jewelry box!

I L-O-V-E them all! As usual, you can find these on my pinterest board "Fashion."
What are you loving on Pinterest? What do you think of my jewelry pins?

A New Beginning

Beginning today, I'm on a new journey. A new opportunity has presented itself, and I'm taking the leap. There will be lots of changes, and to be honest, I'm a little overwhelmed. Please continue to keep me in your prayers, in that the Lord will guide me and protect me and see to it that I'm going to be ok and everything will work out.

I feel good about this. That's a good sign, right?

Finally fall?

I woke up Saturday morning for a shopping trip with a friend. By 9 AM, it was already miserable outside and the temperature topped 100 degrees later in the day. It hadn't rained in weeks, so everything just looked dead. Quite depressing.

I woke up this morning to rain, thunder, and cool temps. I shivered when I took little Mia out to potty. Friends, I think it is finally fall, and I couldn't be more excited! The days of long sleeves, blankets, mums, pumpkins, and trees full of color is upon us.

I hope it lasts.

Thursday, September 1, 2011

I want my friends to pray for me; I need the prayers of those I love.

Have you sang this song in church? It's one of my favorites because it reminds me to pray for my friends regularly, even if they don't have a "dire" need at the moment. Also, when I want to ask for prayers, I think of this song.

Anywho-  many of you know about my history of teaching and being in career limbo right now. I observed a possible opportunity yesterday for a few hours and loved what I saw. I think I could be really good at it, even if it wasn't in my original "plan."  I feel good about this opportunity.

I wasn't going to tell anyone because I didn't want to jinx anything, but I decided that prayer can do wonders, work miracles. And friends, I need your prayers.

I want you to pray that I find my "calling." I want you to pray that IF this is what God has in store for me, that it all works out. I want you to just say a prayer for ME and this situation.

Thanks, ladies.
