One Last Thing

I received my new People magazine yesterday, and this was in the back. I thought it would be fun to do...maybe a Thursday regular?

Last time I laughed out loud... last night with a Drew Barrymore impression.

Last vacation... Vegas, bitches! I went in Oct. 2010 with one of my best friends, her hubby, and his best friend. It was a blast. (I also went in June 2010 with a different group of girlfriends. It was also a blast.) To be honest, I would be happy if it was also my next vacation.

Last card I sent... In the mail? A mother's day card to both of my grandmothers. I gave? To my dads (real dad and stepdad) for father's day.

Last thing I bought online... Grey's Anatomy Season 4 on eBay. I've been an ebaying fool this week, y'all!

Last show I watched... Chelsea Lately

If you have nothing to blog about, feel free to use this. Be sure to leave me a message with the link; I want to read!!!! Come back next Thursday; there may be a new set of "Lasts."

Let it out

This could possibly be my most favorite link up ever. Why? Because it's all about bitching, and let's face it...I'm awesome at that! :) Visit Aly's site and bitch away!
Mia- My little pupcake...Please stop going to potty 5 times a night. Momma needs her beauty sleep. Also, you have 10 toys on the bed, if one falls off, play with another! Don't bark until I pick up the toy.

Friend #1- You aren't really my #1 friend, but anywho.... The world does not revolve around you. Please stop talking about your perfect child and everything else going on in your life. Here's a thought, ask about what's going on in our life. Maybe you didn't know about something BIG because you never ask about me!

Tuesday Car Man- You annoy the shit out of me. Stop asking what I'm reading. You know that thing I mentioned about "personal space" last week? Learn it. Those jokes you tell, they aren't funny. You said you should be a stand up comedian? You lie!!!!!!! You aren't funny. Even your voice annoys me. Your breathing annoys me because it is so loud and awkward.

Neighbor- I have a dog. She doesn't go out on a leash, but she stays in my yard. You have a fenced in back yard. So please tell me why the hell you let your annoying dog out in the front yard so that it comes to my house, shits in MY yard, and gets my dog wound up. Keep it in the back, people!

Teenagers- Stop getting pregnant. Use birth control or condoms, or HEY, how about both? Also, it isn't necessary for you to get engaged and married a week after you graduate high school. Disclaimer- I know it happens. Maybe you did it. And if it worked for you, that's great! But honestly, how many people that get married in their teens make it? How hard was it for you to have a baby that young?  It's just easier and smarter if you wait, K?

Receptionist at doctors office- Why do you need to know about my employment? I gave you my phone number. I told you I'm paying for the visit. Stop asking a billion questions about it. Do you really need that info to take a look at my eyes? Nope, didn't think so.

Thank you, Aly, for creating and hosting this awesome topic. I honestly feel like less of a bitch since I have a reason to ...bitch. And ahhhh, it sure does feel good to get all of that out!

Do you readers have anything to bitch about? Let it out! I like the comments and it feels goooood!

Reviews anyone?

Happy Monday, y'all! This weekend was definitely an interesting one! Here's my rundown (and reviews)...

I often take my cousin's little boy to the movies. Cars 2 came out on Friday, and he was counting down the days, then the hours, then the minutes until we got to see it.

I'm not a big animated movie person, but this movie was ok. I had never seen the first one, but it was cute. The cousin had a ball, so it was worth it.

I bet you will never guess what I did.....yep, I went shopping. I had been itching to go to the outlet mall about an hour away from my house. My sister and bil went with, and we had a good time. I, like usual, found tons of stuff at the Gap outlet, my favorite! After we got home that night, I rented some movies and settled in for the night with pizza and a blanket.

Movie Reviews? Sure....

First, I watched The Fighter. Yes, I'm aware it has been out for forever, but I just now got around to watching it. I wasn't sure if I would like it since it isn't my "type" of movie, but I have to admit it was good. It could have been the fact that I have a major crush on Mark Wahlberg. Seeing him shirtless was pretty amazing. And that accent makes me melt every single time he opens his gorgeous mouth....I die.

Next, was Just Go With It with Jennifer Aniston and Adam Sandler. I have to first say that I love these two. I mean, how can you NOT like Jenn? She's the sweetest, and Adam is freakin' hilarious. Like most rom-coms, it ended just how you wanted it to, but I really liked this one more than others. It was funny, sweet, funny...and the kids were freakin adorable. Ello?  Definitely one I will be buying.

Book Reviews? Sure...

I finally finished this one. While it was a little slow, I did enjoy it. It was a cute, Christian romance. The storyline, while a little far fetched (aren't most books?) was cute, and I would recommend it. I wasn't sure about it, since it was a free nook book. I do think it is targeted more towards a younger (teen)  audience.

I've been dying to download this book since I heard it was coming out. While most people hate the Palins, I love them. I'm not sure how I feel about ole Sarah politically, but as a person, I think she is fantastic. While her values and opinions may  not be popular, she stands by them. I'm getting off topic.....anyway, I think many people feel the same way about Bristol. I really like her and wish I knew her because I bet she would be an awesome friend. I'm anxious to get her take on things like the "gnat" known as Levi, DWTS, and the McCains. It should be an interesting read.

So there's my rundown. How was your weekend? Have you seen or read anything I've mentioned today? What'd you think?

Everybodyyyy Backstreet's Back, Alright!

So Tuesday was one of the most fun nights ever. My friend, Meg, and I drove down to good ole Nashvegas to see our childhood crushes, New Kids on the Block and Backstreet Boys. Meg swears she doesn't remember New Kids, and I was only in kindergarten when they were big, so many of the songs I didn't remember. I did have the dolls and sleeping bag. They were dreamy back then.  However, we were both big BSB fans, and seeing Brian again just melted my youthful heart. And can we say Nick Carter?!? I don't remember him being so dang hott! Anywho- back to the rundown....

We had some time to kill before the concert. (My rule is to always be early instead of on-time. You just never know what could happen....) So we did what anyone would do, picked up some awesome bling for our heads. I wish I had bought that cool hat!

Not drunk, just loony. And Meg, we aren't in Detroit.
It's the COUNTRY music capital!
Jordin Sparks opened for them, and I would totally go see her in a concert too. She was really good.

For the most part, we had good seats. We were on the lower level and could see well. But you can't really tell in the pictures. It looks like we were a million miles away.

The group came out together, and then until the very end, they would do a song or two of their own and then switch. There was a lot of pelvis gyrating and shirts coming off, which I thoroughly enjoyed!!!

At one point, Jordan from New Kids came to the edge of our section. Soon after, BSB came down from our section to go to the stage. I was sooo close to touching Howie (eh...I could leave him) and AJ. I die. haha.

Howie D.

I think part of the biggest entertainment was people watching. There were old people, way more men than I honestly expected (both gay and straight), and the clothing was a riot. I totally understood the 90's attire; I thought it was clever! But ladies had gone out and bought matching tops, shorts, and shoes for the occasion. I saw some super cute bridesmaid dresses, but to wear at a concert? Really? And I think I saw more skin than if I were at the beach. Some people.... I wanted to take pictures of the trainwrecks, but didn't want to get a beat down, so you'll just have to take my word for it.

Yes, I paid money to watch old boy bands. Yes, they were just as cheesy as they were in the 90's and 2000, respectively, and yes, they wore costumes that were embarrassing....but Meg and I had a ball and I would do it all over again...(except driving to every gas station to find an open one and getting pulled over for speeding...) but besides that, I would so do it again! :)

Would you have gone to see NKOTBSB?

Negative confessions..mostly

Friday is confession time at Mamarazzi's blog, so that's what I do.

Warning: I started these on Thursday, when every little thing was grating on my nerves. Therefore, most of this post is negative and bitchy and irritating, but it is what it is.

Here I go....

I confess...
that when you speak to someone, you don't have to stand a mere three inches from them. I can hear you fine from a foot or two away. Personal space, people. Learn what that is.

I confess...
that it is not necessary to repeat every single thing I say. I know what I just said.

I confess...
it's also not necessary to call me right back after I leave you a message to ask a question I just answered. I told you your vehicle would be done at such and such time. Do you really feel the need to call back two seconds later and tell me you just heard my message and ask if that is correct. Why, yes, you dumbass, why else would I call and tell you that? For shits and giggles? I have better things to do.

I confess...
that it is disgusting and gross when you wear the EXACT same thing for several days in a row. When you are going out in public and going to a place where you had been the day before, and the day before that, please change. I do notice that nasty outfit you have on and that you haven't washed it, because it still has the dirt and creases in it from the day before.

I confess...
that I'm obviously  not cut out to work with people. They irritate me. I realize I come off as bitchy, but I have no patience. I should work on this.

I confess...
that while I like talking about myself like the next person, it is pretty important in friendships to ask about the other person's life. For instance, a line like this, "Hey, Melanie, what's going on in your life?" would work wonders. I can't remember the last time some people asked that. It's always about them and how much everyone loves them, or what they have going on in their life. You don't know what's going on because you don't ask or seem to care. Maybe that's why we don't talk much.....just a thought.

I confess...
that I'm ashamed of this post, but I posted it anyway, because it is what I'm feeling. I'm in a major funk, and I'm not sure how to get out of it. I try positive thinking, but it's just not working.

I confess...
I watched Bon Qui Qui last night to make me feel better when I was on the verge of frustration tears. It worked. :)

I confess...
I'm still singing NKOTBSB songs in my head. Loved it.

This is me

Hey, readers! I'm linking up with Kelly to try this little link up. It's an experiment, of sorts, for me.

About me? I'm 27. I'm from a small town in Kentucky. I love my family and talk to them almost daily. I'm a Christian. Even though I'm quiet at first, I'm very easy to get long with. After I know you, I will talk your ear off. I love laughing and do it pretty often. My friends describe me as bubbly.

I have two degrees, a bachelors in English, and a masters in school counseling, both from Western KY University. If I could have a career of being a student, I would love it!

What do I like? I love watching sports, especially football and Kentucky basketball. Go Cats! Traveling is probably my all time favorite thing to do; I love visiting historic places and being a complete tourist, or I'm completely fine with lying on a beach with my toes in the sand. I'm a movie collector, big reader, facebook junkie. I love a night out or can be happy on the couch chatting with some good friends or curled up on the couch with a movie.
I don't have any children, but I do consider my little teacup Yorkie my lil girl. She is 2 pounds full of preciousness. Love this little mutt!

That's me! And of course, if you'd like to know anything else, please feel free to email me!

After a super late night of fun at NKOTBSB, I'm too exhausted this morning to post. A recap of all of the craziness will come, just not at this moment, because I'm having trouble keeping my eyes open. So, I'm leaving you with my all-time favorite youtube video.

Meet Tracy. She's awesome!

It's Monday already?

Link up with Carissa at lowercase letters for Miscellany Monday. Whoop whoop!
Miscellany Monday @ lowercase letters
  • Friday was game night. I love game nights because as I mentioned on Friday's post, there was lots of yummy food (which I ate too much of), tons of laughing, and an awesome time with awesome friends!
  • Saturday morning was an early one. 3 of us got up before dawn and decided to yard sale in BG. It was all fun and games until the sky turned black, the thunder rolled, and the torrential rain poured down on us. Needless to say, after about 5 stops, our yard saling for the day was over.
  • Luckily, I grabbed this little charm for a measly $2 bucks. Score!
Cast Iron 3-Tier Stand
  • We grabbed a drink, some candy, and sat in the Target parking lot until they opened. Yep, we were those people.
  • We shopped around good ole BG, had lunch with our 4th, and headed home.
  • I have to admit, I may have not been regular old Mel. Getting up 2 hours earlier than normal had taken its toll  on me. I went home and crashed. Nothing like a 3 hour nap!
  • When I woke up, I cleaned and settled in for He's Just Not That Into You. Wowza--it was good that I watched this again. It reminded me how NOT to be, because honestly, he's just not that into me (according to the movie, which I fully believe).
  • Yesterday was spent sleeping in, visiting the real dad and my nanny, and then heading home and cooking supper for my family (mom, step-dad, sister, and b-i-l). I cooked my papa's mexican hamburgers, slaw, baked beans, and Symphony brownies. Good times.
  • I picked these lovelies off my hydrangea bush in the backyard. Love this color! Fresh flowers just make me happy!

What's up with you on this Monday morning?

I confess...

It's time. Time for me to confess my evil thoughts, and let my readers either agree with them (hopefully), or roll their eyes in disgust. You let me know.....

I confess...
I absolutely HATE talking on the phone. Unless you are a guy, then I love it and could talk for hours.

I confess...
that even though I know (deep down in the back of my mind) that there is no possible way we will ever be together, I still get butterflies everytime you text/msg me. I can't help it.

I confess...
that game night is tonight with the gang, and I can't wait. I don't know if it is the large amounts of appetizers that will be on the island, the raunchy games and jokes that will be told, the laughing continuously until my stomach hurts and mascara is streaming down my face, or the embarrassing stories that will be shared afterward, but these are my favorite nights! You're invited too. Want to come?

I confess...
I feel bittersweet when I finish a book. I'm excited that I finished it, but if it's a good one, I'm sad the story has ended. I just finished Thursdays at Eight and it's time to move on to another. Any suggestions?

I confess...
that I L-O-V-E getting comments from you guys. But PLEASE enable your email so I can respond! It [comments] goes straight to my email, so I reply, go to hit send, and see that it's a 'no-reply-blogger.....'. I totally believe in responding to emails and comments, so please let me do that!

I confess...
that I got a "hankering" to go to BG (closest place to shop) yesterday afternoon, couldn't find a soul to go with, so I took off. I spent way more money than I expected/should have....:sigh: In my defense, I haven't been in almost a month! So there. I'll share what I bought in tomorrow's happy list!
What are you confessing to today?

You've Got the Right Stuff.....Baaaaby!

I love linking up for WILW; it makes me feel all happy!

The summer premier of one of my favorite shows began last night! I love these girls; their personality, their style, the trouble they get themselves into. Such a good little mystery too! (I just hope we figure out who A is soon!!!!) Do you watch? If not, it's on ABC Family @ 7 central time. You'll love it!

I'm obviously not on my water kick anymore. I've become addicted to this sweet drink lately. Yummo!

I've been on a reading kick lately too. That happens; I'll read three or four books in a row, then tire of it and won't read for another month or two. I finished The Help and loved it! Now I'm on a book by Debbie Macomber called Thursdays at Eight. Chick lit is definitely my favorite to read. What's yours?

I love love love concerts. The energy and FUN that I have is out of this world. The last one I attended was the Garth Brooks Nashville Relief concert in Nov, and it was the best one I've ever been to. Next week, I'll be hitting Nashvegas up again, but this time to see NKOTBSB. Pretend you aren't jealous. I mean, I know I will feel like I'm 14 again, but helloooo. They are so fun!

What are you loving today?

Fancy Son of a Gun

Anyone need a fancy mobile home?
I live in a rural area, a small town (about 17,000 people), and possibly more rednecks per capita than any other place. I mean, it is Kentucky, people! So when my sister told me about this sign she saw, I knew I had to take a photo, and share it. I'm even sending it in to Ellen.

Who does this????????????
While I haven't seen this one, I bet it sure is a nice one! Hahahaha!

Weekend Awesomeness

Happy Monday, y'all! Question of the day.....Where did that weekend go? It totally flew by, right?

I'm linking up with Carissa @lowercase letters for Miscellany Monday.
Miscellany Monday @ lowercase letters
My Friday was completely laid back, which is nice sometimes. I cooked a pizza in the oven, watched The Ugly Truth, or at least part of it until I fell asleep, and read a ton in my book.

Saturday was WORK DAY. Mia woke me up at 7ish, I finished reading my book, fell back asleep for an hour or two, and then got up and got ready to do the horrible, awful, terrible, no good, very bad thing (know what this is from???) callled yard work. Blah.

Mom and I made a trip to Lowes, picked up some of that edging block stuff, came home and got it laid down. Then we went to get some gravel for it. We took about a million gazillion breaks, and actually had one of the guys to finish it. It was hot, my friends. And hard to rake/shovel/push that heavy load of rock around. A few hours later, we called it a day. (Pictures later).

I showered, changed, sat around for a bit before getting bored. I headed to UGI, a local gift shop, and picked up a Vera e-reader sleeve. LOVE it! I had a leather thing, but didn't like it as well. The top of the thing didn't secure the Nook, and it kept sliding out. Not good for this klutz!

I love this pattern!!
I met my parents for dinner, then my sister and bil picked me up for some house/land hunting. They are moving a county over sometime within the year, so I rode along to look for some possibilities. I swear, we had a good time. I've not laughed that much in a long long time. I think it was one of those, "you had to be there" moments, but it was fun.

After stopping to feed their pets, a storm came in, so we waited it out before they took me home. Insert game time. We played Phase 10, which is fun....except it took like 2 hours, and we were all pretty tired. So glad to see that game end! I do love games, though!

Sunday, I got up and went to church. I am looking for a "home" church, if you will.  I belong to a church that I grew up in, but it's not really for me anymore. I've been visiting my sister's church, and like it, but I don't know if it's "the one." Anyway, I stopped for lunch, the stopped to rent Pride and Prejudice. If you've been reading, you know I've been trying to get through that book for about 3 years now. I'll read, then get tired and put it away for months. I just can't get through it. So after some readers commented on renting it instead of reading it, I did. The movie was hard to get through as well. I did like the whole love story thing...."You've bewitched me, body and soul." That was a pretty good line, right, Mr. Darcy?

The weather was beautiful yesterday, so I got out and ran to a few stores. Found some awesome goodies at Burkes. Do you all have one of those? I've never found anything in there, but after taking my time and digging, I bought like 6 items for under $60 bucks. Can I get a whooo-hooo?

Speaking of Vicki, did you all see the RHOOC Reunion last night? Vicki is so classy, all the time. Love her. Tamra and Gretchen get on my  nerves. Get over everything. It's annoying. Alexis is a psychopath. I mean, really? "The problem with liberal America is that women can do everything a man can do. Women can run for president and work." Ummm....hello? I'm probably one of the most conervative people I know, but c'mon Alexis. You are an idiot!!! I did like Vicki's reaction, "I could run for president. And do a better job than the current one." ....or something along those lines. I just love her! And I really like Peggy too. She seems like a genuine person. I can't wait for next weeks epi. What did you think?

So there is my random rundown of the weeknd.  How was yours?
