If any of you are from around southcentral KY, you know that Chris Allen, our local, cooky, weather guy has a name for everyday of the week. Tuesday= Little Twoooooosday.

I don't know why I just posted that. Strange.

My long weekend was low-key and good. Friday and Saturday was spent with the sister. Her husband works out of town during the week, and sometimes they get called to a job on the weekends. As much as she hates it, and I hate it for her, this is the only time we get to hang out. I love hanging out with my little sis, and had such a good time with her this weekend.

One of my favorite stops on Saturday was a new frozen yogurt shop, called Sweet CeCe's that I had yet to try. I was a little iffy because I'm usually not a fan of the fro-yo. I walked in and was just giddy with all of the options. I paid, dipped the spoon in the bowl, and tasted it. It was delicious! I couldn't help but tell everyone how yummy it was. I will definitely be back!

Vanilla fro-yo with blueberries, strawberries, and kiwi. Yummo!

Sunday was a family cookout for my dad, whose birthday is actually today. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, ROGER! I always let my insecurities get the best of me when I'm around a big group, and ended up feeling horrible about myself. No one said anything or 'made' me feel bad. I realize (later) that I'm the one that makes myself insecure and embarrassed. Shame on me. All in all, the gathering was good. I just let my emotions get the best of me. And that is embarrassing.

However, it was good to see this little nugget. He is the sweetest thing ever and just makes me smile.

Just look at those eyes. Preciousness.
Yesterday, I slept in until like noon. It was ahhmazing. I was in my pj's until a little after two, and decided to hang out with one of my best friends. While picking up a frame about 40 minutes away (long story), we decided to get the gang together for a little cookout session. Fun times, of course. One of my favorite things about summer is grilling out with friends, and the fruits and veggies. I made bought some things for a strawberry shortcake. They were delish!

Whitney with her "double decker shortcake."

I got to work this morning, and was happily surprised to find out it was Tuesday and not Monday! Whoo-hoo to a short work week!

How was your weekend?

Don't forget to link up with my Favorite Things Thursday. If you would like an email to remind you of the topic, please let me know. I would love for more people to join in on the fun.

Blogger Issues?

I've tried three different nights to leave comments on blogs, and it is just not letting me. Anyone else having issues?

Remember my giveaway? We have a winner!!!!!

In case you forgot, here are the prizes, some awesome Mary Kay goodies!

I used random.org to choose the winner.

And the winner is....

Congratulations! Contact me to claim your prize! I hope you enjoy!

If it makes you haaaaappyyyyy

Anyone else always sing your post titles? Like Friday's "These are my confessions" by Usher? Todays? Get it?

I haven't linked up with Mamarazzi's Happy List in a long while, and I'm not sure why because it really does always make me happy. So here we go again!

1. Hangover Part 2.
If you are a regular around here, you know how much I loved this awful movie from yesterday's post. SO stinkin' funny. I may go back this weekend to watch it for a second time. That. Good.

2. Clear America Mandarin Orange

I've been on a no-soda experiment lately. The experiment is to see if I lose weight. In the past three weeks, I've had two sodas. A coke last Saturday and a Mt. Dew Icee at the movies last night. However, every other day, I've become addicted to this orange drink from Wal-Mart. It's .99 cents a bottle, and dare I say that it tastes like Dt. Sunkist! Totally does. I just close my eyes and pretend it's a "bag full of Fanta." Anyone get that last quote?

3. Whoo-hoo for 3 day weekends.

It's supposed to be gorge! Even though the only official plans I have are for a cookout with people I don't like, I'm going to enjoy this break from insanity. Let's also remember why we have the break and pray for the people this day celebrates!

What would you put on your happy list this week?

It's Friday, Friday.....

One of my favorite parts of the week- Friday Confessional. Link up with Mamarazzi. All the cool kids are doing it.

I confess...
I'm feeling down. I am a teacher and have my counseling degree, yet am not doing either of those things because I can't find a job. I have applied to a million places, but am not even getting called for interviews. I feel like a failure.

I confess...
that I'm crushing over illegal baby Scotty McCreery. How cute is he? And so down to earth. I guess I'll let Lauren have him. (It's soooo obvious they are together. Adorable!)

I confess...
I'm addicted to Simply Lemonade. Love it.

I confess...
I'm trying Pride and Prejudice for about the 7th time. I always get frustrated with it and quit. Surely I can finish it this time. Have you read it? What's your opinion?

I confess...
that I saw this movie last night and have been laughing ever since. Non-stop quoting began right after. Go see it!!!! It's vulgar, shocking, just plain wrong, but that's why it's so good! I'm ready to go back and see it again. That. Good.

What are you confessing today?

Miscellany Monday

Miscellany Monday @ lowercase letters

I really should title all my Monday posts "What I bought this past weekend," because honestly, it seems as if I share what I've bought every single Monday. Maybe it's time that I set up a budget for spending. ::sigh::

Ok, so this weekend was jam packed full of goodness. I was running pretty much the whole weekend, and don't feel like I got a "weekend," which equals rest in my eyes normally. However, it was a great one, and I can't complain! Warning--this is a long post (I told you I was busy), but it has pictures, so please keep reading!!

I hadn't seen mah frand (said with a semi-french, semi-country accent), Meg, in over a week. She had been on vacation, and I hate to admit that I missed her and the little nugget that we sometimes call Addison. So, after work, I headed to see the gals. We had dinner, watched some tv, and caught up. Pretty laid back, but I was glad to see the babe (my slang on baby), Addison. She's a cutie!

I finally got to sleep in...some. My little pup, Caramia, thought it would be fun to go potty four different times that morning and bark non-stop. Anywho- I got up, ran some errands, and got ready for girls night. Meg and I ran around BG, dropping some clothes and shoes off at a consignment store, picking up some smelly goodness (car scents at Yankee and some awesome summer soaps at Bath&Body). We were finished early, so we headed to a favorite, Cheddars, to meet the gals. Again, we were early, so we ordered a fruity drink and enjoyed the bartender. He reminded me of the guys at Dick's Last Resort....ya know, because they act like D-bags. So funny!

The girls arrived, when they were supposed to...haha, so we ordered more fruity yummy drinks and food, and had a good ole time.
My bast frand, Whitney, and myself.

My bast frands, Meg and Katie.

We had some time to kill before the movie, so we did some browsing at the Tar-jay. Colorful scarves were on sale for a measly $3.24, so I did what any bargain hunter would do and one in each solid color (teal, olive, and gray). I also bought my Summer Swap Partner some goodies.

Having some fun in the dollar bins.
Finally, it was time (that sounds a little morbid, doesn't it?), and we headed to the theater.
Bridesmaids was on, and we thought it appropriate to see it all together since we are the gang.

Go see it. You will die. Fo Reals!

{Sunday Funday}
So, my friends, The Shirleys, were heading to Louisville. He Shirley was going to be golfing, and She Shirley was going to just be. So, I trailed along to join in and keep her company. Another day of shopping? Why, sure! Do I ever decline a trip? We had lunch at The Cheesecake Factory (and drank the BEST drink ever...it was a typhoon punch), shopped at Mall @ St. Matthews, Kohls, and of course, Target, and found some goodies....

Nicole by Nicole Miller clutch
I've been trying to get this clutch for months. Always sold out online. FINALLY found it at the best Penney's store in KY. I also found some earrings and a bracelet that are darling.
Daisy Fuentes earrings.
Perfect for summer.

Dana Buchman braided bracelet.

I bought another GLEE cd (can I get a whoo hoo?...Vicki Gunvalson style?) and another $3.24 scarf in mustard. Also a cuh-ute top. Score! Why are stores so much better elsewhere than at home? Please answer that!

I hate to admit that after a 2 1/2 week absence of sodas (regular and diet), I broke down and had a Coke. It was the best coke I've ever had. Delish. I'm a little disappointed with myself for doing it.

This is where the randomness begins.

Anyone else exhausted this morning? Seriously....where did the weekend go?

I saw more photos and news of the devastation in Joplin, MO. Prayers to those effected by the storm damage. So sad.

The end of the world, as everyone knows, was supposed to happen on Saturday. They were discussing this on The View this morning and Sherri was explaining how no one knows when it will be. Joy, who gets on my last nerve....was arguing about different religious things. For her to preach about being open minded, she sure isn't.

Freak Lady Gaga is on The View this morning. I'm all about people being themselves....but really. She is just too much. All of this craziness is for attention. She lives in her own little world, and so far, everyone is letting her.  I'm just not a fan. But she's being herself. I'm just torn. I don't know.
On The View

I've hit not only 50, but 51 fabulous followers!! There will be a giveaway this week, so please stay tuned! Thank you, readers!

I came to work to this piece of work this morning. Thanks, Mom. You are SO funny! :/ Haha.
It says "Mel's Dunce Hat."
Ok, so I think I've rambled, and rambled, and rambled enough for one post. How was your weekend? What should I do for my giveaway? Hope you all have a fabulous Monday!!

Horizontal Bossy Pants

I've read two books in the past two weeks; My Horizontal Life by Chelsea Handler and Bossypants by Tina Fey. And.........here's my take.

I saw My Horizontal Life  on BN.com for only $5, so I thought, "Why not?" Well.......

Chelsea Handler- she's funny. I love her show Chelsea Lately. But folks, this gal can't write an interesting book. Her stories are far-fetched....I mean really...who writes a book based on one-night stands? If it is true, I'm disgusted. The book is not funny. How the heck has she written more than just one and had them to be bestsellers. I'm in awe.....but more importantly, can I get my $5 back?

I saw Tina Fey promoting her book on Ellen and such, and she's hilarious! I kept wanting to buy it, but then would wait. I would want it, but didn't really want to spend the money. I finally broke down and bought it for a pretty good price (compared to the printed version) for $12.99. Well.....

Tina Fey- she's funny. I love her in movies, on SNL, and when she does appearances on various shows. But folks, this gal can't write an interesting book. She has some good lines in there, but as a whole, the book stinks. The chapters are boring, I can't focus on what she's saying because there is no entertainment whatsoever. I love you, Tina Fey, but can I get my $12.99 back?

In conclusion: comedians can't write a good book.

You know what to do on Fridays!

I confess...
I'm a little sad that Oprah's show ends FOREVER next week.  What will women all over America do from 4-5pm  now?

I confess...
I've been soda free for two weeks. I'm craving a big ole fizzy coke right now.

I confess...
that I've eaten a Mcdonald's country ham biscuit and medium orange juice for three mornings this week. It is delicious!

I confess...
that the past two books I've read written by celebs have been boring. I'm finishing them because I bought them, but really....they aren't that good.

I confess...
that I feel some bloggers are snobby. I've commented, replied, etc. and some  people just refuse to acknowledge me. (I've already written about this.) And some people just seem completely arrogant and b**** but I continue to read because it entertains me. If that makes me a beeyotch, I'll own it.  (And for the record, yes, I know it is their blog, and they can do what they want. I don't have to read it. I just needed to say that!) But it does make me feel like I'm back in high school.

I confess...
that we've had ONE sunny day this whole week. I'm tired of the rain. It's gloomy and makes me lathargic. BUT, I'm in an awesome mood anway. It's Friday, y'all!!

I confess...
I have 47 followers!!! I appreciate each and every one of you! BTW- When I reach 50, I'm having a giveaway! :) Can I get a whoop whoop??

What are you confessing today, my peeps?

Morals, anyone?

So. I like celebrity news as much as the next one, but seriously...every time I watch or read, I am disgusted with some new twist.

Last week or two, America was informed that former California governor, Arnold S..... and his wife, Maria Shriver, were divorcing. Ok...people divorce all the time.

Photo from people.com
Today, I heard the juicy gossip from GMA.  Old terminator himself, had impregnated a housekeeper  about ten years ago. The housekeeper told people it was her husband (at the time's) child. Not true.

It's Arnold's.

After leaving his position of governor, he informed Maria and his children that it was actually his child. Say what?????

Yep, the housekeeper of twenty or so years was living in the S......'s house, having his child, working there, all the while pretending otherwise for over TEN years!

If I were Maria, I would hunt them down, and cut them. Really...the whole situation is sickening. And to wait until after he left office. Well, bless his little heart. How do people do these things and live with them in secret. Does anyone have morals anymore??

Miscellany Monday @ lowercase letters

First, I'd like to wish a very Happy Birthday to my sweet sister, Trisha!!
She would kill me if she knew I had posted this picture!

Well, readers, my weekend was as low-key as you can get. I had no plans, and I stuck with that. It was actually quite nice.

On Friday...
I rented two movies. It had been a long day, and I just wanted to curl up in bed and catch up on some movies.  The first, Blue Valentine, starred Michelle Williams and my bf, hottie machottie, Ryan Gosling.

I was excited; I just knew it was going to be fantastic. It wasn't. It was horrible. I hate not finishing something, so I kept watching, but I felt like I wasted two hours of my life. It was about a skanky couple going through their horrible life.

This is what Ryan is supposed to look like!!!!
Ryan was a greasy loser in this movie. It almost turned me against him....but then I remembered he was acting, so we are ok again. ;) (Pssst....Ryan- bad choice for a role!)

Next, I watched Revenge of the Bridesmaids.

It was a total chick flick, and I loved it. I mean it was no blockbuster or Oscar-worthy film, but it was cute!

On Saturday....
I woke up and decided to do a little shopping. I drove to Bowling Green later that morning, thinking I would only stop at a few places and be home pretty early.
Wrong. I was there for about 5+ hours. By myself. Again, it was quite nice. I got to take my time, go where I want without feeling guilty....pretty peaceful!

I didn't find a whole lot, but I did come home with 4 pairs of shoes and a few other small things. I was so excited about my shoes, that I decided to share them.

Chinese Laundry wedges. Bought at Hyders for only $21.99!

Yellow Box flip flops. Bought at Hyder's for $19.99.

Black Teva's (on left) from Shoe Carnival for $19.99!

Rampage "Dylann" sandal from Hyders for $19.99!

I got home, checked the mailbox, and had these pretty shoes waiting for me!

Aerosoles "Plushing" from DSW.com for $49.95.
Remember me sharing these last week. They are even better in person! I slipped them on, and it felt like I was walking on a cloud. And they look so much cuter on!! I usually don't spend this much on sandals, but these are totally worth it!!!

So basically I ended up with 5 pairs of shoes on Saturday. That's my idea of an awesome, successful day! I started to feel guilty, but since I cleaned out my closets last weekend and put more than 40 pairs of shoes in the yard sale pile, I think I can purchase a few to replace them, right????

On Sunday....
I went to my sister's church and enjoyed the sermon. I love leaving church with messages that leave you thinking and reflecting.  I had a "bridal planning luncheon" with a friend and the rest of her bridal party.  The lunch was delicious. Considering it was rainy and in the 50's (yes, it's MAY and in the 50's here in KY), I was anxious to get home and put on some comfy clothes and wrap up in some blankets. I did just that! Of course I watched the DH finale (so good!).

It was rough getting up this morning though. ::sigh:: Only four more mornings until the weekend though!!!

How was your weekend?

Friday Funny

I saw this on Ms. Kelly's blog and had to join in on the fun. Who cares if this is my second post/link up today.

You may not get this if you aren't from KY.

The year is 2016 and the United States has just elected the first woman
president, who happens to be from Kentucky.  A few days after the
election the president-elect, whose name is Susan, calls her father and
says, 'So, Dad, I assume you will be coming to my  inauguration?'
'I don't think so. It's an 8 to 10 hour drive."

'Don't worry about it Dad, I'll send Air Force One. And a limousine
will pick you up at your door.'

'I don't know. Everybody will be so fancy. What would your
mother wear?'

Oh Dad," replies Susan, 'I'll make sure she has a wonderful
gown custom-made by the best designer in Washington ...'

'Honey,' Dad complains, 'you know I can't eat those rich
foods you eat.'

The President-to-be responds, 'Don't worry Dad. The entire
affair will be handled by the best caterer in Washington ,
I’ll ensure your meals are salt free. You and mom just
have to be there.’'
So Dad reluctantly agrees and on January 20, 2017, Susan is
being sworn in as President of the United States . In the front
row sits the new president's Dad and Mom. Dad noticing the
senator sitting next to him leans over and whispers, 'You see
that woman over there with her hand on the Bible, becoming
President of the United States .’

The Senator whispers back, 'You bet I do.'
Dad says proudly, 'Her brother played basketball at Kentucky!"

Basketball is the biggest thing about KY. Some of you may know what I'm talking about. :)

Don't forget to go to Kelly's blog and link up!

I confess...
that I'm a little peeved that Blogger has been down and deleted my Confessions post that I had saved. Boo, Blogger! Boo to you!

I confess....
that I can't think of any good ones now. Bummer!

I confess...
that the past few (like ten) times that I've tried to spell [bummer] that I've spelled it incorrectly. Bumber, which I think reminds me of dumber, just seems right. But it's not. So bummer it is.

I confess...
that I'm really disappointed that FTT isn't doing so well. I had a lot the first thursday, then fewer the second, and even fewer yesterday. Is it lame? Are the topics lame? Am I just lame? Please, fill me in on the problem, yo!

I confess...
that I ate my first sweet potato a few days ago. Loved it. Of course, it had butter and brown sugar on it. It tasted like dessert....so I saved it for last!

I confess...
that at the same dinner as the sweet potato  premier in my  life, I also drank a Wallaby Darned....MAN...it was tasty!

I confess....
that I'm a movie junkie. I love buying them (as you  may  have read before). So when I saw that No Strings Attached had come out on Tuesday, I bought it. So what will I be doing tonight? Watching it again, of course! I also plan on renting Blue Valentine. It stars my boyfriend Ryan Gosling, if you haven't heard of it.

I confess...
that yes, I know it is the weekend. I know I'm staying in...again. But I'm old darn it. It's raining. And my friends all have other plans. Don't you judge me, and think that I'm lame. I will cut you! (And half the time I say I'm staying in, I usually don't....so there!)

Please tell me your confessions!

You want to know about me??

Go link up with Impulsive Addict, Janette, Mamarazzi, and Shawn to participate in all of this fun-ness!

What game show have you always thought you could be on and totally WIN!

Wheel of Fortune! My grandma rocks at this game, and I like to think that I took after her!

Do you have a tattoo(s)? What are they and what made you chose them? If not, would you get one, yes/no/why?
I have three. Yes, folks, this good girl has three tattoos. Maybe it is my way of rebelling against my goody-two-shoes image. My first was a small heart on the inside of my foot. My mom and sister actually went a few days later and got the same thing.
My second was a design on my back. I had saved a photo for 8 years, and finally did it.
My most recent is an M on the top corner of my foot. It is my absolute favorite!

I would like a few more, but don't really have a spot to do it. I love ones on the wrist, but hope to get back into teaching and that wouldn't work. So...we'll see.

What is your favorite piece of jewelry that you own?
A ring that I bought a few months ago. It's smoky quartz with a diamond cushion.

What is your driving pet peeve(s)?
The biggest is people not using their turn signals. They are there for a reason, drivers!!!!
I also hate when people don't go the speed limit (like driving slow...if you want to speed, then join me!), and when people pull out in front of me. I have road rage and will cuss you!

What was your favorite sitcom growing up that you wish was still on?
I have two; Saved by the Bell and Full House.

I wanted to be Kelly because Zack just loved her.

And I wanted to be DJ because she got that awesome purple room, and had the coolest clothes.

I wish they were still on. I actually think SBTB is, but it's before I wake up....oh well.
